Oh dear. From the divine, to earthly delights.

 

Anyone have any idea what nibs they're going to get on their darlings? I'm torn between my usual IB and getting a BB for maximum usage. Anyone have a BB who can comment if it'll match a Visconti BB for performance?

I'd also like to know how and if a CS BB compares to a Visconti BB. I didn't know CS even did BBs.

I thought I saw where Pengallery had some. I'm designing the dream pen [or Spirit of Life, if that's what we're calling it] to be a daily user. As such, I'll need maximum ink flow. I love the IB nibs, but they're a little slower to write with than those luscious Ripples, so I want to be sure.

I was in Henry's workshop today, and I thought you might like to know, that he has been working on the Spirit of Life Pen. The intricacy of the foliate patterns between the spaces for the script is incredibly finely detailed. He has also been working out the drawings for the cap design, taken from the wrought iron gates of a shrine which Ghost plane sent him.

Things are looking up, as they say! Has anyone heard from George recently? Perhaps a gentle nudge! Go on George!

Just to put the record straight, Ghost Plane didn't send a pair of gates to Henry! That would be stupid!!!

She just sent pictures to him, she's quite sensible like that!

You five [including the lady who 'snogs' for pens, only with her husband of coarse!] might be please to know that the cap of the Spirit of Life Pen is nearly finished the 'cutting out' stage of the work. I can tell you [because I've just been watching him doing it] it is special!!! No doubt Neal will be posting preliminary images of both the cap and the barrel in due coarse. Until then you will have to take my word for it. This is all dependant upon Ghost plane's approval of coarse.

Sources close to the originator of this thread have informed me that the 'stash' of photographs of Henry's pens will be winging their way towards my computer on Sunday. I can't promise anything, but I am hoping to be able to continue posting them in small doses from time to time on this thread, in the near future. Dear Troglokev,you are absolutely correct, GP is not coarse [of course!] but I can't say I have known her for long enough to have seen a 'Lewd' GP. My spelling has always been pretty good, but I suppose I have got lazy over the years, and had chosen the ['unrefined'] version of the word coarse/course, I would have been more sensible to have chosen the other version 'of course', that way there would have been less likelihood of upsetting anybody! The great thing about people getting together is that almost all of us learns something from the experience.

The top is the cap, the bottom is the barrel. The dark line will make the spiral where the verse will go when wrapped around the pen.

I think Henry has excelled himself. This is new ground in design and the verse will be exceedingly challenging. I'm thrilled to see the dream taking shape.
