Yes GP I received a message from FPN explaining what is going on, but it's a shame.

Hopefully George will have finished his very 'busy period', and will start posting some more images for us!!! As Chris said, 'No pressure then!' Eh! George?

We've gotten so big so fast that the software can't keep up. :headsmack:

Back vaguely on topic, Salman is working his calligraphy magic for me so that Henry will have something to work HIS magic on. Great art takes awhile, so it'll be ready when it's ready.

I still think it's a shame that the 'counter thingy' doesn't work though! I think I'll go back to the worm eating!!!

I never can remember all the words to the song, but the "ooey gooey gopher guts" always got me as a child

Back vaguely on target - I have to say one of the greatest joys of this thread and my dream pen is all the lovely people I'm "meeting" on the way. It might have been easier if I'd had a preconceived sketch to hand Henry, but then I wouldn't have had all the fun of talking to so many people and playing with the designs and learning about calligraphy in other languages and hunting through prayer books for references and the internet for designs and... I'm having a good time even if I'm driving poor Henry nuts.

To put your mind at rest Ghost Plane, it's not driving him nuts, when we spoke about this recently he is enjoying the process as well, and is looking forward to starting the metal work as and when the decision has been made, regarding the final design. You just have to keep ploughing on with it until you know that you've got it right, however long it takes!

In the meantime I've got some more worms to eat down the bottom of the garden!!! Am I being over-sensitive? I'm not too partial to worms at the best of times!

My best buddy in survival school, a medical doctor infamous for eating armadillo even tho' she knows they're carriers of leprosy, assures me that worms, depending on the species, taste best fried crispy if you can find fat and a container. If not, skewer on green twigs and toast over an open flame until crisp but not blackened. Apparently wild garlic or onion enhances the experience, if you can find it, but avoid American bay tree leaves as they will impart a bitter heavy flavor, unlike their Indian counterparts. Salt, if available, is always a plus.

I have to say, based on personal gardening experience in both countries, that British worms appear to be puny things compared to the awesome weightiness of the American night crawler. :hmm1: I have not put them to a taste test, having never been hungry enough to sample what my brain persists in classifying as "bait."

GP,the lyrics I heard as a child were--

Great big gobs of greasy grimy gopher guts

Mutilated monkey meat

Dirty little birdie's feet.

French-fried eyeballs dipped in kerosene-

I forgot my fork.........I forgot my spoon.

Interesting... I think that is in range of doing.... I just need to find some sheet silver and a pen to mod, and a jeweler's saw. Doesn't look too hard, but who knows... That is my nature, to see something and say... that looks do able. Silver isn't too out of my range, but I guess i need to find a pen that can be dissasembled.

I've become a fan of Mr. Simpole from one pen that was a very kind gift to me from a friend who already has another of his gorgeous work. Even at 16cm long, this meatenormous pen is fun to use and display. The smooth silver work is so very comfortable in the hand, unlike the rough eges of the machine-made overlay on my otherwise favorite Sheaffer Nostalgia next to it.

Inked and ready to write, left to right: MB sterling BP, Waterman No 7 black celluloid w/ pink nib, Sheaffer Nostalgia w/ factory stub, CS Simpole w/ italic F nib. MB 142 green with EF triple flex, old-style Pelikan 150 with XXXF Binder nib, Nettuno Idra by Stipula with Mike Mayasuma italicized nib. Others are hidden in the rack, such as a Waterman 34 Thoroughbred, MB 139 F triple flex, MB 142 EF semiflex, and the Diamond that Antonios just sent.

Nice choice of pens there Fred, and one heck of a gift! You're obviously a man who appreciates the difference between 'mass-produced', and 'Hand Made'. A man after my own heart! When you received it were you told about the 'C' and the large 'S' on the cap design? Also there is a number '10' next to it on some of them. It was put in the design to represent the first ten years of the Re-start of the Conway Stewart Company. Not a lot of people know that! Now you do!

I've got to go back to my worms!!!

Yum! Missed lunch and worms are starting to look good! :roflmho:

Was telling my local B&M shopkeeper about Henry's pens when I went in today to stock up on PR inks and indulged in a couple of single pen cases while I could get 15% off. She had me write down the website.

They only stock Visconti, Waterman, etc. so it was an education for her. I wiped out her stock of PR Black Magic Blue while I was in there.
