Has Anyone Heard Of Henry Simpole?

What is this blasphemy?!!!

Oh great and mighty one, what speaketh ye of this 'APP' flipperteegibbit!!!? Sounds like the work of satan to my ears.

And this ministry that you have spoken about, with the 'silly walks', it muchly remindeth me of Sir John Cleese, from Weston-Super-Mud, [in the West Country] Who was considered to be the uttermost of silliest walkers in this fair land! He and his troupe of play-actors were considered to be the backbone of unconventional humour!!!

Rumour has it that the whole surviving troupe of them are putting on a show fairly soon in the O2 amphi-threatre in London, not far from the olde Globe Theatre just along the Thames!

With regard to this thing that you refer to as an 'APP', I knoweth not a thing of this item! That it would add speed to my commuting in the mornings remains to be undiscovered!

Good morrow to you madam!

John Cleese not only approved it, but plays it according to the nightly news (tempting voice while a theramin makes spooky sounds in the background)

Isn't it strange how coincidences happen sometimes at just the right time!? [if they didn't then it wouldn't be called a coincidence, now would it!?]

Apparently the Monty Python team were indeed at the O2 arena last night, and apart from being packed out, everyone seemed to think that they performed superbly.

Wonderful!!!

And no you have come to the wrong room for an argument, [Postscript]!!!

Good morning, all you Monty Python fans!

I'm feeling particularly perky this morning, as it is my 63rd birthday, [i have no qualms about sharing my birthday with the USA and it's Independence celebrations!] but I have to admit that I am still a 'luddite' in many ways!

Most of today will be taken up with the 'finishing' of the silver cap bands for the Conway Stewart 100, which will eventually get sent on to the gentleman 'up North' who has commissioned the pens from Conway Stewart to celebrate 100 years in the stationery business.

When that has been done, I will be carrying on with the 'finishing' of the fifty caps and barrels for another commissioned pen.

Looks as though it will be a busy old birthday!!!

Happy Birthday O Great Truffle Finder!!! Sorry this greeting is so late but I have been without wi-fi for two days now. McDonald's has kindly made theirs available, so I'm getting my web woes satisfied for the moment. Glad your day was productive! May Portobello treat you well tomorrow too!

Indeed may the Portobello fairy grant me a good day today!

So far, nobody has contacted me to see if I will be there today, so, I will just have to see how things turn out.

Still, I have a positive mental attitude, so hopefully it will be a good day.

I hope so!

As I had mentioned the week before last, I sold one of my overlaid pens to a Swiss gentleman, who had seen me about a year before up at my stand at Portobello, and he had bought a Parker 51 to use on an everyday basis, he had decided that he wanted to buy one of 'my' pens this time while he was over here!

He is obviously back in Switzerland now, and is quite happy with his latest purchase, as he sent me a personal 'glowing' message last week. It was so 'glowing' in fact, that I wrote back to him, and asked him if he would mind transferring the message to the guest-book in my Web-site, and low and behold, he has just done it for me!

Yesterday while I was at my stand at Portobello, I was handed a Dunhill Namiki pen, with a large 'D' shaped piece missing from the mouth of the cap, so I have been filing away at a 'Donor' hard rubber cap until it had been whittled down to the correct size to fit neatly inside the Namiki cap. It is now at the stage whereby it is stuck in place, and the next stage will be to 'fill' the 'D' shaped recess with black resin, then I will have to sit there and 'turn' it to ensure that gravity doesn't have time to allow it to 'droop' into an uneven shape :excl:

There is no doubt about it, this sort of repair is literally a labour of love! Very satisfying though.

I don't doubt most of you repairs are labours of love since you are literally married to them! ;)

Hope the D-N turns out beautifully. It really is a shame we couldn't see it before you repaired it.

Despite my efforts to keep 'turning' the DN cap while the resin solidified, it 'set' with a slight bulge! Anyway, seeing as the alternative would have been to remove the resin, and do it again, I carried on with 'improving' it!

By yesterday afternoon, I had got to the stage whereby I thought that that was as good as it was going to be, so I put it back in my case, and left well alone! But try as i might, I kept on thinking about it, so I got it out again, and started filing it again, and now it is as good as I can do!!!

I am really pleased with the result, and I hope that the owner will be as pleased as I am!

Truffle Finder. :)
