Has Anyone Heard Of Henry Simpole?

It was a sumgal on eBay before Truffle got famous. Juicy BB nib & I got it for a bodacious $350 new in the box from a dealer who'd had it on display because no one else saw it or knew what it was. Or maybe got scared it didn't have a needle nib on it. Obviously meant to be mine & was the second Truffle after a Chatterley with an IB in green. After that, the obsession with creating the Spirit came upon me & the rest, as they say, was history.

Sometimes things are simply meant to be. My blue Ripple came to me the same way one year & was the start of my stub nib obsession.

I can feel a new overlay coming on!

I am so chuffed with it, I just had to tell someone!

With a bit of luck, it should be making it's appearance here tomorrow, after Neal has done his magic with it.

Norma Jean....you need to inscribe that in the cap somehow.... ;)

Elton John could be next....Rocket Man or Tiny Dancer or some such....Yeah, I'm sleepy....

Would you have to get his permission to use his likeness? Maybe just stick to the dearly departed....

But he might be interested in Norma Jean.....with that song and all....I'll stop now....

The important thing about this overlay design, in comparison with my previous patterns, is that there is no engraving involved in creating the image, which was quite 'nerve-wracking' while I was doing it!

Bearing in mind that if I had made a mistake, it would have been impossible to correct it! The only option would have been to discard it, and to start again from scratch!

That is the case indeed....no engraving whatsoever.....how tedious!

Last June, I was diagnosed with having a Hernia! [Hardly 'Pen-related news'! I know!] But I have been waiting for notification of when the operation would take place, since then, and low and behold, I got a phone call on Thursday asking if I could come in at midday on Saturday.

Not wanting to turn down the opportunity, and wait any longer, I agreed have it done, so now, I am recovering here at home, and moving around very gingerly, and dosing myself up with industrial strength Paracetamol.

My good friend Tim agreed to stand in for me at my booth at Portobello yesterday, and by all accounts he sold quite well during the course of the day.

I'm hoping that I will be feeling better, and less fragile so that I will be able to attend my stand next Saturday.

Thanks for the 'Well wishes' though Bruno!
