Has Anyone Heard Of Henry Simpole?

I should say not, GP! The Truffle could use some regular Penquisitions apparently.... I see I could use some sleep. :P

Happy Mother's Day to all applicable ladies!

I hope to sleep in and maybe dream of nautical ropes and deco-ladies.... :)

ETA: Wow! 3000 replies? Really?

Well, I've been up since 6.00am, I've got everything in the car, and I'm just waiting for Tim to phone me on his mobile phone, and I will go and pick him up and away we will go.

I must say, I'm really looking forward to this fair, somehow everything bodes well, but maybe that is just my imagination.

I've checked my 'check-list' several times, so hopefully I have got everything packed, it would be very sad if I got there and found that I had forgotten an essential piece of equipment, particularly as the reason that they invited me to do it, was because I was prepared to demonstrate my craft while I'm there! :)

I'll report back later.

Tim has just phoned me to tell me that he has just got on the 'bus replacement service' at Stratford! :o :yikes:

Hopefully he will phone me again very shortly to say that he is ready for me to pick him up!!!

The time is now 8.15am, so hopefully we will be there by 9.15am! [The public come in from 10.00am onwards.]

I'm back, we've had our supper, [incredibly, served up about twenty minutes after I got back here! That's prep-work for you!!!] I'm absolutely 'pooped', and I can't wait to go to bed, fairly soon I hope.

Anyway, it was a really great show, unfortunately no pens were sold, but the interest was very good, good sensible questions were asked, and lots of business cards were taken, so I can I think reasonably expect to see an increase in the repairs of people's old pens in the next few weeks.

It was made much better, due to Tim's presence there, both to allow me to 'go to the usual offices!!!', but also to take a break, and 'mooch' around to see the other exhibitor's stands.

All in all, I would say that it was a very good day out, and I would certainly do it again if I was invited again.

I certainly won't need any rocking tonight!

Truffle Finder. :)

Chris, see the little smiley face in the blue task bar that comes up when you are posting? Click on it and the emoticons will show up.

Man, I'm suffering from eye candy withdrawals over here :bawl: ....Fortunately a fellow Arkansan has risen to the occasion and provided

a petit four of sorts in this post....bon a petit . :)

Any chance of some professional works of art to soothe the savage breast? I know, music....but music to my eyes works just as well as to

my ears. :happycloud9:

I've just had a telephone call, from a man, up in Scotland, who knows an old lady whose late husband used to work repairing fountain pens, anyway, after he had died, they were packed up and put in the old lady's loft, where they have remained ever since!

Until now!

He phoned me to ask if I was interested in buying them, I told him that I was, and he is going to put them in the post to me tomorrow, when I get them, I will obviously have to go through them all, [not a particularly enviable job, as there is about 1/2 a kilo in weight there!] Then I will get back to him, and hopefully come to a satisfactory conclusion regarding the price.

I will keep you posted as regards to how it all goes, in the next few days! :D

Nope....sorry everyone......no task bar or menu or smiley anything - no matter what I click on. I'm using my iPad, but not 'on mobile' - so I have to remain miserable it seems!

Congrats on the haul in the mail Henry!!!! If only you could post photos..........hmmm? We may have to have a one-on-one FPN-wise soon, what do you think?

And look just to the left of him, there's an enormous Thermos Flask of tea, just Tim's breakfast/'elevenses'!!!

He'd drunk the lot by the afternoon!

It was a lovely day up there though!

The sheet of silver being worked on in the picture is one of the Deco Ladies, but sometime tomorrow I will be sending everything up to Neal so he should be able to post a sequence of the stages of producing an overlay.

Truffle Finder. :)

Thanks fo doing the honours Esterbex.
