Has Anyone Heard Of Henry Simpole?

Since returning to England, I have [i think!] got over my Jet-Lag, and am back in harness.

I telephoned the Princess, to find out when it would be convenient to deliver the William Morris Pen which she had ordered before she went to Hollywood to stay with the other film star friend of hers [she had given one of the Simpini Pens to him!] she will be back in London this afternoon, so I think that she will want me to do my home-delivery service tomorrow!

So, I am now busy lining some more boxes, [having sold so many pens while I was in Little Rock!] As tedious as it is to sort the boxes out, it is really rather pleasant to 'supply the demand!'

Back to work!

A lot more would have stayed this side if these pictures were posted BEFORE the show so we'd know what was available. :gaah: :gaah: :gaah: :bonk:

I was due to arrive at the apartment at 12.30pm, and having been 'accepted' through the security door, I was then told that the lift was being serviced, and that the stairs were the only option! So, I climbed the stairs [five floors I think!] and by the time I got to the top floor, I was really in need of my ventilator!

I was quickly ushered into the apartment, and sat down to recover. It was a little embarrassing but I soon regained my composure.

We then had a conversation about the pen that I was delivering, and I explained about the engraved initials, which had been requested when she had ordered the pen.

I must say that I was very grateful to have the much easier [gravity assisted] journey 'down' the stairs, compared to the journey up to her apartment!

OK....sorry if I can't seem to control myself....but I feel like a new grandmom with a new grandkid and I can't stop snapping or showing photos of it....a veritable clichè. Indulge me please.

Chocolates with a lovely blue baby topping...I couldn't resist.

Bruno, I think that you have every right to feel a bit biased!

I received lots of comments about the base pens of the Simpini model, while I was at the Little Rock pen show.

I might add, that there were some nice comments made regarding the overlay patterns too!!!

Ooo, I like the clip on the Simpini. My orange beauty is currently drinking Iroshizuku Kon-peki. I'm still trying to master the wet noodle flex nib.

PS: Here's a poor quality photo from a few months ago. I can't remember if I ever posted it.

L to R: Nakaya Mini Decapod, Watch Art zebra stripes, orange piston-fill Simpini with a super-flex Conklin nib!

Now it's my turn to be an itsey-bitsy bit biased!

I think that all three look really good, but the one on the right is the nicest!

I think, anyway! :hmm1

There y'go! :

I plan on covering this with brown or maybe green leather.

Thanks for the patient explanations I think I understand what you meant now.

Hi My63, from Tyneside!!!

Yes, you've got the principal right, but the wood looks to me to be too 'thick'!

There is no need for the two 'arms' of the right-angle to be any longer than one centimetre in length.

When the two pieces are stuck together [back to back], I think that you will find that there would be more than enough space for even quite 'thick' pens to be housed. It is difficult to know from your pictures exactly what size your pieces of wood are, but they certainly look too big to me.

Don't go any further, I will buy a piece of the size that I think you will need, and I will include the piece in the parcel that I am due to send you,OK?

STYS!

PS. The cuckoos are nesting early this year!

Hi Michael,

I've just got back from my timber merchant, and read your posting here!

Anyway, I got a piece of the type that I have used, and I have stuck two pieces on a piece of cardboard, so that you will be able to see how you can accomodate almost any thickness of pen.

I will be going to post the box off to you today, so please wait until you get it, and you never know, it might be quite helpful!

Take care!
