Eye of newt is reserved for people who annoy me as it gives the brew a fishy taste

On a vaguely related topic, I have a historical oriental recipe combining white tea, cloves and frankencense of all things. Love white tea, I could see dropping a clove into a pot to steep, but how much frankencense???? It was recommended one drink it an hour past dawn

I discovered this thread in 2012 and have enjoyed the banter flowing accross the world since then.

I have spoken to Henry to seek his advice on a box I was converting for someone the advice was both useful and freely given and very much appreciated.

with that in mind I have made a small gift for you Henry :) and if it is not too cheeky I would like to say it is from all of us ( but especially me and Esterbex who has advised on its desgin) who enjoy this thread.

Your little package should be with you by the end of this week and I hope that you enjoy it.

Wishing everyone on fpn the very best for 2013

Michael

Ha! Starting the new year off with a surprise for Henry. Excellent! :clap1:

As for what happens an hour after dawn, I believe it was intended for refreshment after dawn prayers. Perhaps I will track down some frankencense and find out! :yikes:

Having been up rather earlier than usual this morning [due to a 'bunged up nose', I have caught a cold!] I was looking at this thread, [and others I might add!] when there was a ring at the door!

The Postman doesn't usually come around until much later in the day!

Anyway, I was handed a very large parcel, [beautifully packed BTW!] which contained a beautiful cutlery box, which has been converted into a fountain pen display case!

Thank you so much 'My 63' for your hard work in doing such a conversion.

You might be pleased to know that I am thinking about using it, in the glass cabinet in my booth at Portobello Market, but I will have to measure the cabinet first, before I take it up there! It certainly looks much more presentable than the display box that I have been using for long enough!

Thank you very much indeed 'My 63'.

Truffle Finder.

PS. Unfortunately, you will have to wait until someone with a camera comes to my stand and wants to take a photograph, before it can be displayed here! Sorry! Unless perhaps 'My63' took one before he sent it off! :hmm1:

Thanks for posting the pen and ink picture here Neal, it looks even better when 'clicked' with the mouse up to full size!

Beautifully executed!

I'm being showered with gifts at the moment!

When I first spoke to Henry I was asking him about converting cutlery boxes he mentioned he had made one in the past but had sold it, He no longer had time to convert another so I thought I would do it for him.

I hope that you sell many many pens from it.

Regards

Michael

Wow....feels like Christmas is still in full effect over your way Truffle!

Thanks for sharing the news!

I love the ink drawing! Who is that talented fellow again? Reminds me of Arthur Rackham....

My63....I swoon yet again at the sight of the lovely creation and the sentiment behind it. I could

use a friend like you.....
