That will be a 'Magna' Onoto with lovely overlay Wendi, and make that two tickets, both in the lottery and for flights. puddle.gif puddle.gif puddle.gif

Clips can be removed if the pen comes with one, or so I hear from someone who is an expert! thumbup.gif

That's it...the Magna Plunger-filler! Sans overlay I'd assumed....That wasn't to be unveiled until the London show in October unless.....(did we get the scoop?ninja.gif bunny01.gif)

eta: And your ticket and flight reservation have been duly noted!

Seeing as how it's been a little while since I've posted anything on here, I thought that I would explain what I'm doing at the moment.

With the Dallas Pen Show not too far away, I have got to get some silver sheets ready, with [preferably several] different designs marked out on them, and the drill holes ready to receive the piercing saw-blades for when I will be demonstrating my craft at the show. [ie:- the piercing out of the design.]

The one that I am working on at the moment, is a pretty design which I have 'borrowed' from a chocolate box, which I bought up at Portobello Road last Saturday! Biscuit tins, chocolate boxes, theatre programs, nothing is safe from my eyes!!!

You may get a visitor in the future. Decent chap in Sussex I've been chatting to about a non-pen eBay transaction [yes, they still exist], is a retired photographer and waxed rhapsodic when talk turned of your pens and Portobello Road.

Ghost Plane, tell him to bring his camera with him, and then perhaps he could post a few shots on here!

I'll look out for him!

How lovely! Another lot of pics of fun at Portobello Road! The chocolate box lid inspiration sounds good too, and I remember when I was the quilter in the grip of design mode, I could see inspirational stuff in the most unusual things,

Pics will be lovely when Neal can do some. bunny01.gif bunny01.gif bunny01.gif

Is anyone on here an expert on Montegrappa Pens?

I picked up one yesterday at Portobello, which is a cream coloured pearlised pattern plastic pen, with silver trim [ie: the section, and barrel threads are silver], as is the clip, and the cap band, as well as a silver set of threads at the back end of the barrel, for posting the cap. There is an inscribed '1912' above a laurel wreath, and the name Montegrappa engraved on the wide cap band. Any ideas? Anyone?

Slightly off the subject oof pens, I've just finished mowing the lawns both front and back, before the weather turns nasty again, and I found it as therapeutic as usual, just going up and down up and down, with the brain in autopilot!!!

The only trouble is I can feel a certain stiffness coming on though!!! :hmm1:

Hey-Hoo!!!

Sounds like the parchment color. Historia, Classica or perhaps early Extra? Check Jar's wonderful pictorial guide of modern Montegrappas pinned in the Italian pen section. What nib size is it? <hopes for a B or BB>

That's the one, [last picture!] Esterbex!

Yes, it's got a B nib, Ghost Plane!

Thanks a lot! And now back to my stiffness!

Truffle Finder.

PS. Does anyone have any idea what they originally cost?

I could suggest some remedies for that stiffness....but you've probably already heard of them all. roflmho.gif

I've decided to re-grind the broad nib on this pen into a 'broad italic'.

I have quite a large following, of people who prefer italic nibs, so it will be a nice addition to my 'broad and italic nib' selection folder, up at Portobello.

Many thanks for everybody's contributions to my enquiries about this pen!
