Meisterstuck 75th Anniversary Pens

Recommended Posts

In 1999 MB produced the "75 Years of Passion and Soul" line of LE and SE products, which were mostly pens. From the famous and reliable German site, fountainpens.de, I found that the line included the following FP:

LE:

144 in solid white gold with pinstrip pattern and rose gold trim limited to 75

144 in sterling silver with barley pattern and rose gold trim limited to 1924

144 doue with a sterling silver cap in barley pattern and a resin barrel with rose gold trim limited to 1924

146 in sterling silver with barley pattern and rose gold trim limited to 1924

146 doue with a sterling silver cap in barley pattern and a resin barrel with rose gold trim limited to 1924

149 Skeleton with solid gold overlay limited to 75

149 in black resin with rose gold trim limited to 1924

SE:

147 and 149 in black resin and yellow gold trim which were limited production

So my question is: Does this list include all the editions produced on that occation or are there more? for example, was ther a 146 in black resin and rose gold trim produced as a LE? or one with yellow gold trim produced as a SE?

Sorry I can't answer that, but thanks for the list. I think pens of that series are particularly beautiful, and I'd like to get one eventually. Darius, do you know if they all came with MOP stars?

Yes and yes.

I have seen the 146 SE for sale on ebay by a couple of reputable sellers (erfobay and cruzaltpens) and I spoke to Airport International in seek of a 146 SE and they told me that all they had was the 146 LE in rose gold.

Jeen, the LE series came with MOP star whilst the SE came with the normal white star.

Thank you Daenghafez. Kaisede showed us his 75th Anniversary Doue with the MOP star and barleycorn sterling cap some time ago, and I've been captivated ever since.

Thanks Srul for your response.

So to update the list:

146 in black resin with rose gold trim (I assume limited to 1924)

149 Skeleton with solid gold overlay limited to 75

149 in black resin with rose gold trim limited to 1924

SE:

146, 147 and 149 in black resin and yellow gold trim which were limited production

Does anyone know id there were more editions?

I agree with Daenghafez on the mother-of-pearl star.

The 75th Anniversary LE Series (with rose gold plated trim and Mother of Pearl star) also included leather goods and accessories. I have seen:

Small black leather top fold notebook (rose gold, MOP, edition of 1924)

Small black leather business card case (rose gold, MOP, edition of 1924)

Medium black leather organizer (rose gold, MOP, edition of 1924)

Cufflinks & TieBar set (rose gold, MOP, edition of 1924)

****

Additional LE 1924 pen:

161 Ballpoint (black resin, small diamond in O of Montblanc, rose gold, MOP, edition of 1924)

****

I don't remember whether the roller ball and the mechanical pencil were offered as LE 1924 editions.

Oh - and the 75th 146 LE in black resin with rose gold plated trim, a MOP star, and a small diamond in the O of Montblanc was indeed limited to an edition size of 1924, like the other non-atelier 75th LE pens.

Thanks for the input Ray.

The 75th Anniversary leather range also included products made from ostrich skin. That and the shark skin used on the Boheme shark pens and pen pouch are two types of leather materials MB has used on a very limited number of products.

I forgot about those. The 75th Anniversary Ostrich Leather products were produced in Editions of 75, not of 1924, and I think the rose gold was solid, not plated.

There is an Ostrich Leather Key Case on Buy-It-Now offer with nice photos: http://cgi.ebay.com/Montblanc-Meisterstueck-75th-Annv-75-Key-Case-18-75_W0QQitemZ280314450066QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item41440b1092&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14#ht_1211wt_970

Montblanc currently produces leather accessories in genuine alligator, in addition to cowhide. They call their Alligator Leather products, "Cashmere in Leather." Those marketing boys...

I can confirm the FP 147 which is a SE, and not numbered. It is item # 75352

There is also a Rollerball 162 which is also a SE. Montblanc item # 75354

They both come with the same Placido Domingo CD

Thanks Sean.

I didn't know that the pinstrip pattern was used for the silver pens as well as the barley. I thought it was only used on the white gold ones.

No problem at all. I didn't know either that this style existed. In these situations, I also use fountainpen.de to verify the authenticity of whatever I am looking at so I was surprised when it was not there. But after emailing the seller, it was clear the seller was honest but just not knoweldegeable about fountain pens. (the whole reason I reached out to her is that in her listing she claimed the pen was selling for $2000+ which of course means she was confusing the pen for another model in the line).

I brought the pen to the Boston MB Boutique yesterday to get its nib changed to a B. I almost opted to settle for the M nib because it is a very beautiful pen; I didn't want to send it away.

I am starting to like the 75th anniversary 149.

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

Gentlemen,

I have a Meisterstuck 1924 Model 146 75th Limited edition in my possesion that I cannot find in this topic - it is a 75 pcs limited edition.

Is there a way where to find out more details or even its value?

Can post some pictures if you are interested.

To me it looks like to be a " 144 in solid white gold with pinstrip pattern and rose gold trim limited to 75",

BUT it is the 146 model
