What a great thread - these comparisons are really helpful for those of us who live nowhere near a B&M store.

How about a few from the Waterman family.

http://www.fototime.com/A9B2BDD602001D6/standard.jpg

From left to right: a CF, Concorde, Laurent, Phileas, Expert, Prelude, Gentleman and LeMan.

Isn't the third a Laureàt?

Btw: what a great collection of pens.

Thanks

Yup. More fumble fingers. The best I can do in my defense is to blame my old eyes.

What does a Pelikan M140 Compare to? Thanks.

M150? They are small as nothing I have except the Pelikan 100 or a Sheaffer's Ring Top.

Are you talking about the old 140?

If so, they are just under 5" long IIRc, so it will be slightly shorter than the 200, 400 length pens.

Thanks for your input. One more question, do you have an idea of the diameter of the barrel?

I gave my 140 to a friend so no longer have it to check, but it felt pretty stubby in hand. I'd say the diameter was slightly under a half inch so again, about the same as the 200, 400.

The diameter is the same because the caps are interchangeable. They are (140) 125mmx12mm vs (M200) 127mmx12mm. As per http://www.ruettinger-web.de

Yea!!!

Thanks for that. It's been years since I held a 140 and as folk here know, I'm old and forgetful. It's always amazing to me when it turns out I actually 'membered something right. :)

Great sample of pens for comparison, gotta love the ST Dupont Olympios, really elegant lines.

Thanks, and agree about Duponts, think they're beautiful designs, very well crafted, very smooth writers, and most under-appreciated brand around here....

I prefer my pens fat and big.

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

Here's a quick update with some additional pens that didn't make it in my snaps above. From left to right, they are: Fisher Bullet Space Pen, Esterbrook SJ, Visconti Wall Street, Lamy Al-Star, Lamy 2000 LE, Pelikan M605, Pelikan M805, and Pilot Vanishing Point.
