Ink to enhance personal correspondence

Oy! You were supposed to catch the lack of a ? there.

If I edited other people's personal correspondence to me, two things would happen:

 

(1) I would have no time left to get my work done; and

 

(2) I would have no friends left who would write to me.

 

Most days I content myself with correcting the terrible abuses of the English language committed by reporters on our local television stations. Yelling at the telly gives me something to do when I need a break. Favorites:

 

"There is no word as of yet about the outcome."

 

"Hopefully they are all going to be ok."

 

"As soon as she stepped foot into the apartment ..."

 

And so on. The politicians want to demand that immigrants learn to speak English. I would far rather media people (and politicians) leaned to speak English.
