The Red Thread - Please Post Photos Of Your Red Pen Darlings

dandelion

Recommended Posts

There are two real good colour threads going right now - a blue and black - which I enjoy very much.

Since I really like the idea of posting different pens in the same colour I thought I might start a red thread for the Red pens.

Here are two of my favourites - please share your red darlings here!

(I have to buy a red sportscar as an accessoir to my pens someday...soon)

After posting this I browsed through my photos to look at both gone and kept pen and added a few new photos here and in a post below.

Here are my three current favorite reds...

--Parker Duofold ("big red")(1928)

--Sheaffer Statesman Touchdown (burgundy) w/Palladium silver Triumph nib (1952-56)

--Parker Challenger (red marbled)(1934-37)

I like using an old Waterman's red ink in them.

Gorgeous red pens!

Oh, I know how this works. People post photos of their pens in colors I have no interest in. It's very sneaky.

Rena, WOW! I especially like the Marlen Journal and the Filcao Silvia... and the Waterman Red Ripple.

Dandelion, your Delta is also very appealing.

Sigh.

I might not be able to come back and look at this thread... Dennis's Bexley is making me want Americana in Rio Grande Red, and after looking at Dandelion's Delta and Aurora, I paid a visit to "Penne Stilografiche della Bella Italia" — a place I've been avoiding lately in order to keep Pen Lust under control. (I have such a soft spot for many of the Italian pens.) But yes, Ethernautrix, red pens go very nicely with black pens.... ;) You'll be seeing many beauties in this thread!

Rena - lovely lovely lovely red pens! That Rio Grande red is stunning, Dennis.

Beautiful additions, all!

The French Safety is going to be in my dreams for a while now. I have never seen a clip with colored enameling like that — is that what it is Sean? Enamel filled inside engraving?

Penmanila, What is that gorgeous pen in your last photo?

As I recall that is exactly what the clip is. It was a really wonderful pen, very close to a Waterman 42 in size and construction. The only marking on it was that it was French made, but I do not recall any makers name at all.

Cheers,

Sean

Thanks dandelion!

The 2nd pen from the right is an LE Danitrio "Hellier" that was commissioned by winedoc. This happens to be in the Takumi size.
