These nibs have been flexed thoroughly.

 

If my memory serves me well these once had the appearance of a spring coil, courtesy of Bryant.

Yeah - if you've ever seen Bryant writing in a couple of his youtube videos you'd think he was writing with wet noodles. These things were very soft.
