I don't generally like black pens, but once I wrote with this Cross Century II, I decided it was a keeper.

That is an invaluable heirloom! I was careless with my Dad's Vector and misplaced it during my teens sick.gif.

I have and have had quite a few black pens, but the two that mean the most to me these: First my black Esterbrook J, with its super smooth 2668 nib. This was my grandmother's pen and both pen and nib were carefully restored by Tyler Dahl.

You must really like black! I don't have as many pens as you but I started with most of my pens being black.

Got a lot of black pens, but no photography skills....

That is a very handsome pen with a nib to match.

Here is one of my recent finds - a Matador 976 [bottom one is also a Matador but a later model]. If you get a chance to try a Matador, please do, you wont be disappointed.

The best looker is my Mont Blanc John Lennon in Groovy Black Resin. But then-

My 5/6 Yr old MB 144 (cigar) is still shining despite being put to daily use.

Latest MB Starwalker Metal Rubber (a fusion) is so impressively modern & different.

The French made Chinese laq shine of my plain looking S T Dupont is awe-inspiring.

My Black Plastic Pelikan Roller Ball in Lozenge pattern is such a beauty on the cheap.

And why is the Ball Pen (XL?) Pasha from Cartier in black composite with minimalist

platinum trims so imposing, dominating to look at!

The worst looker is my Sailor Sapporo in Black Light yet tough plastic, but is got the best nib, a H-F.

Older than my MB 144, cost a fourth of MB but loved just ass much.

My favorite black pen, a Parker Vacumatic 1946, once belonged to a Marvin Yates of whom I know nothing.

It's black, but with a GLOW!

Just found a thread all about black pens! Black rooolzzz! Love the MBs several posts above - such great shapes by MB in vintage. Here's my current fave...

Cheap Underwood from the 1940s - writes like a dream.

You just made my day. I have this exact pen under restoration right now.

What a lovely thread. Some of these babies are really really beautiful. Thanks for sharing them.

I know I've been banging on about my recent acquisition a lot lately but I think it's gorgeous.

My Visconti Homo Sapiens Bronze.

For me it's my first vintage flex, fine nib Webster from the 1920's.

At the time the watch sold for $59.50 while the 146 listed for about $12.90.
