Show us your wax seals

I have a question for the experts. I am wondering what conditions cause air bubbles in the wax and if there is a way to avoid them? Is it the type of wax, maybe the temperature, or perhaps if the seal is stamped too quickly? Just curious what others have discovered. Thanks! :)

Just a quick question guys, how do you clean the things you melt the wax on? I use a ceramic spoon but it's covered in pink wax and I'd like to use a different colour.

If you feel comfortable to do so you might pop the spoon into your freezing compartment for a bit. I do this with candle holders when was drips "get on my nerves." I wouldn't think the spoon would suffer from freezing but that is up to your "comfort level" to decide. If you use a metal spoon in the future it will surely remove the wax without damage.

When I melt wax in a little saucepot, I line it with aluminum foil. After I've completed the project, I can replace the foil and switch to another color wax. This technique may also work for your spoon. If the wax is already stuck on your spoon, I read you can freeze it and then chip or clear the wax off. For small to medium seals, I use a hot glue gun or wax sticks which require little or no cleanup.

Abraxas sealing wax I think is the amber you saw. You'd have to look online to see where you can get some or if anyone near you would sell it.

Abraxas's dealer list doesn't mention any dealers in Spain( though it is outdated), but, there are a number of dealers throughout Europe, here is the link: http://www.abraxasswitzerland.com/e-www/test.html

The links on top of the page may offer more info for contacting Abraxas directly to see if their dealer list has expanded, or on how to aquire the wax directly. Its a fun wax to use, and smells like pine resin when melted!

FP Ink Orphanage-Is an ink not working with your pens, not the color you're looking for, is never to see the light of day again?!! If this is you, and the ink is in fine condition otherwise, don't dump it down the sink, or throw it into the trash, send it to me (payment can be negotiated), and I will provide it a nice safe home with love, and a decent meal of paper!
