I just took a chance and ordered this one from EeBay [stock photo]:

It's coming from Hong Kong so it'll be a while.

I love those ebay seals! Here is one I got off etsy that I quite like.

A honey of a seal! How would you say the quality is from this seller? He has a Star of David I might like to add if he ships to the US

I have this as a seal, it's only a cheap thing... The circus bear on a bike is a symbol one of my friends assigned to me years ago when she made a book for me and it was on the cover (a visual nickname?!), and it's stuck... a few friends who know call me 'Robert Bear' because of it, so after weeks of trawling the internet and shops this was the only thing which I had any connection to without spending a lot of money on something vintage. There sure is a lot of tacky rubbish out there, I hope this doesn't rate too highly on the tack-o-meter.

Here are photos of my sealing gear and you have already seen my seal there in my profile photo

<-----------------------------------------------------------

I made the stamp myself, not by carving but by cutting initials through an iron sheet and soldering it to the base metal. The wood handle could be prettier but it's not important. I need to grease the stamp before use so it doesn't get stuck which is a shame but works well that way. The melting pot and the blotter are made myself too, except the handle of blotter which is from a cupboard door.

I make my envelopes myself because i want the lid to be in center to make a correct seal. Maybe they are sold somewhere but why to buy anyway.

Bob that is completely perfect! And I agree, it is hard to find something that I can A: Relate to and B: Afford!

I finally got my seal from "Custom Wax N' Seals" in the UK. Service was great and about a 3 week turn around. The provided impressions are posted below. I'm going to use this with J. Herbin supple wax in the blue color. I've ordered a J. Herbin silver ink pad because I think that will provide nice contrast and really make this seal pop. Alternatively, I'm considering getting white wax to mix with the blue and try a marbled effect but I haven't committed to that idea yet.

Just curious, was that three weeks almost entirely shipping time? I ordered my stamps 12 days ago, and got an email stating they were shipping two days later... Just curious how long I've got to wait. Patience is not one of my strong suits.

It was longer in shipping than I expected. I know because patience is also not something I have in spades and was disappointed at the mailbox repeatedly. Worth it when it arrives though.

Well, I did a terrible job using this for the first time. I totally underestimated how big it was. Aside from my awful job, the quality was pretty good.

Not super thrilling, but pretty good. Personally, I prefer the super smooth lines of sarge's from Custom Wax 'n Seals, and I suspect I'll be getting a custom after Christmas. But this bee one was almost no wait time and less than half the price, so who am I to complain?

Finally, my stamps are here! I ordered two stamps from Custom Wax n' Seals. I placed my order on Saturday, Nov 9, was contacted for Proof Approval on Monday, Nov 11, received an email stating they were shipped on Wednesday, Nov 13, and today, Thursday, Nov 21, they arrived! Not a bad turnaround, considering they came from the U.K. to Maryland, USA!

So without further ado...

The Proofs:

The first is a standard design they had on the website, with my first and last initials ("J.S.") Disregard the big "2" in the picture, they had sent me two different designs, for approval.

The second is a "Semi Custom" design - they had the art work, and I had them include the text. It means "First, Do No Harm", a phrase we use a lot in EMS.

The two stamps came packaged very securely in a small box, shipped via International Air Mail. Once opened, and unwrapped, here is what I found...

The first stamp:

The wax seals that were provided. I'm going to have to get the silver ink, I really like that look, especially on the second stamp design!

The second stamp. I absolutely LOVE the way this one turned out!

And the provided wax seals:

I can't wait to get home and practice using these beauties! I highly recommend Custom Wax n' Seals. Very professional, very quick, and extremely good quality. I think the only bad thing I can think of is that it's going to be difficult to decide which one to use!

Thank you. I made grooves to the stamp by the edge of a file after soldering, to form those background stripes. I designed this logo as a child already and still use it... It's simple but i also like that it's easy to read from a seal like that.

What do you use to grease the seal?

Just a fingertip of cooking oil. Not much. Without it some corners of initials can grab and crack when i pull off the stamp.

There are other ways than the easiest one too.

I bought another seal. It's a Hoopoe! It was the last one left in the back of the drawer at CastleintheAir. I hadda get it, the Patrick O'Brian book series is a favorite in our house.
