I recently acquired one of these, and the size of this pen is ideally suited for carry in a pocket wallet or pocket briefcase (not for the back pants pocket!).

I bought one from Binder about a year ago, put it in the pen case and forgot about it. It really looks like a woman's pen....a bit small. However, I just inked it up and find it has wonderful flex and I probably should use it for my pocket Moleskine.

Cant believe I've neglected this little treasure. (I may STILL not be able to get past its diminuitive size!)

I have a Merlina rather than the 33, and it is actually smaller than the 33. In spite of its diminutive size, I like it a lot, and carry it in a Leed's pocket notebook (reporter style). Love the flex, and the fact that it is not wet noodle, so I can reasonably take quick notes with it, hence the position in the pocket notebook.

Nice, I like that pen a lot. It reminds me of the Esterbrooks from the same era, the colour and simplicity of design. +1 for the button filler! I might have to try and find one in un-repaired condition since I don't like paying for repairs I can do myself.

I've been looking for a year and in German and English Ebay, and saw one...and I was broke that week.

Every couple of weeks I run a list of certain minor pens I got out of my Lambrou book through the local Ebays...I live in Germany...and

Buy from Richard and get a semi-flex to flexible nib and don't go cheaping out.

A Merlin and a Ciba are made from Osmia parts, delivered to small family businesses. Osmia nibs are superb...Being I was on a low budget, I was looking for a pretty Osmia, with out having to pay for the name.

From the picture, the nib is a Degussa with a Merlin name on it. Degussa bought the old Osmia nib machines, keeping Osmia alive until Osmia came out with the Supra. I have some Degussa nibs, one is an F-2 full flexible nib. The diamond with the half a shining sun in it is the Degussa mark.

Osmia had a diamond in a circle...so the diamond on a the nib was well known as quality. In that Dugussa bought the nib machines...I guess they were telling folks the nib was Osmia based.

Buy the Merlin....

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.
