Sailor Profit Realo

Yes I have it on good authority that Sailor will introduce the new filling system on the PG in early 2010 which is great news as I also prefer the two tone nib on that particular model :)

I wonder what kind of price bump the piston will put on the PG. I want to tell this pen "you are a SAILOR, not a PELIKAN - stop fooling around with pistons - it's all about the NIBS!!"

I hope they keep a cheaper PG line with converters.

I'd hit that. The 1911 Realo is a little bit too Montblanc for me - the PG feels more original.

These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives everything its value.--Thomas Paine, "The American Crisis", 1776

I got a reply from Art Brown confirming that the capacity is 1 ml.

I went to Art Brown and saw the Realo. I was not impressed. It is definitely a well made pen but he low ink capacity and light weight/feel in hand left me unimpressed. {I like a heavier pen and add a Pilot VP metal cartridge cap and a small piece of brass rod to add weight to my sailor pro-gears and 1911's} Not worth the price to me. Plus just a personal thing-- I have felt with sailors lately that when drawing the nibs are TOO SMOOTH!! I feel disconnected from the paper. Just me. Oh Well.

That being said Art Brown is a fantastic store and seeing Mr Nagahara work was worth the trip--and trying a emperor nib was great. Mrs. Brown has sold me many a fountain pen and one of my first piston-fillers so I have a soft spot for such a great lady. The store is a NY treasure and should not be missed by any pen-heads visiting NYC.

Any word on whether this pen will be available in any color other than black?

That's below the Japanese list, isn't it?

Japanese list is 31,500円 ($347US), so on current exchange rates, $309US is a pretty good price. Mind you, the Yen is doing funny things at the moment because no-one is quite sure what the Hatoyama government is going to do, economically.

I wasn't impressed by the pics in Shumi no Bungubako. The piston mechanism looked, well, a little cheap for how much the pen cost.

Hi,

I am curious how you managed to get copies of the Shumi no Bungubako. Are they available in Singapore? Kindly enlighten me. Thanks!

Such a nice lady!

Hi,

House of Pens comments that "the shipment was delayed. Now, it is finally available at the local retailer in Singapore".

And, there's one up on eBay, item # 180409757645, with the bidding at $260.

Regards,

Andy

Hello,

do you know if the box contains the fountain pen and a ink grey botlle or only the fountain pen?

Thank's,

I heard that only limited number of Sailor Profit Realo comes with the ink bottle. The rest will just come with the normal packaging. :)

Other pens available for sale:

Pelikan : Keep a watchout here, M805 FPs, M400 and M405 FPs,
