Post Cards galore!

I frequent an antique mall near Cornell University.

(sometimes I frequent it too frequently but that is

fodder for another thread)

I've been looking at a box of postcards for months.

Shoebox size or thereabouts.

Had a price of $20.00 on it which thought might be a bit steep.

Finally took the time to really LOOK at it today.

Came home with well over 500 postcards. (I figure they were less than three cents each)

Roundabout 250 of which are used (canceled stamps, anyone?) and well over 300

are unused vintage cards from all over the world.

They range in date from the early 1900's to the mid 1980's.

So, I guess I'd really better get busy with my post card pals.

And FRED, this is ALL your fault.

It's because of you and your cards

I was drawn to them over, and over again.

Thank you, friend.

I'll have to pick some very special ones out just for you!

That's a great find! A big box o' fun! I see a few winners already, like the cartoon dog and Mongolian Grill -- I like the guy with the horn, too.

Around here, antique store postcards are creeping up from 50¢/ea to $1/ea :( .

Awesome find!

When I was researching vintage cards a bit on the net, I saw a few times that the stamps are not all that collectible, but a postcard with a removed stamp was worthless. I highly suggest you keep the stamps on the cards.

I have enjoyed the used cards as much as the non-used ones. Have fun reading!
