Platinum Pigment Ink: Blue

Is the Plat-carbon more difficult than the Sailor version? I've used the Sailor one in the same Snorkel for many months with no problem of gumming or clogging whatsoever, and only flushed a few times because I like to do that anyway.

I'm delighted there's a blue version. Wish Sailor would make one. I haven't tried Platinum's yet.

I'm more than happy to read your upcoming ink reviews regarding soaking because your request for "soaking" means nothing to ME. For instance, how often am I going to drop a pile of documents written with fountain pen ink in a pool of water on the street to soak for a few minutes if not a few hours to allow the ink to disappear.
Wow! Way to bite someone's head off!

Now, I rarely have water wipe across my papers (I'm not sure how that would happen), but I have had a glass of water spill onto my desk & wet down some of the papers on it. Some of the inks practically disappeared, while others smeared but remained legible, & the Kiwaguro was unaffected. Hence I would consider a "soak test" more relevant to my actual experiences than a "swab test".

3) The pigment ink when wrote, the handwriting has a print quality. In the ordinary dyed ink, the ink always spread on the paper giving a very shabby looks but pigment ink has a print quality handwriting if wrote properly.

Start using Platinum pigment ink and improve your handwriting by making it a quality print handwriting!!

Signum1,

Your handwriting is so nice that it is hard to evaluate this statement by the seller based on your writing sample.

Do you think that there is an appreciable difference in handwriting appearance when using this ink?

Thanks

Didn't mean to upset you mate, no need to go off.

But truthfully, a swab test isn't all that helpful since so many inks will hold on for a minute or two and then completely wash out. Since you're trying to imply waterproofness in your reviews, I think some folks would be mislead. And for me, the overnight soak tests in ten different liquids are not necessary, I'm usually happy to see if it holds on for perhaps an hour in water. That would be more definitive than a swab test. I have spilled water on my notebooks more than once and been caught in rains and thanked myself for using waterproof inks. So I'll always enjoy your reviews, but it appears that I'll have to go to others to get the water tests.

Cheers,

S

Hello Signum1,

I visited Phidon pens today and saw some Pigment ink. I saw the price tag, $30 and decided not to dip it. that ink is very expensive.

No, this ink is very expensive! :roflmho:

Still a pigment ink, though…

Yeah, but I can't see myself using that ink... ever. I mean what would happen if you were to flush that ink? I think the only place that ink would be used would be in a glass dip pen.

greenman508 on ebay currently has the ink for $18.95 plus free shipping in the US. No affiliation, but I have bought from this seller before with no problems.

  • 1 year later...

Would anyone be willing to send me a sample of this ink? Alternatively, if you are interested into ink swapping I have a PR Electric DC Blue which is almost full.

Thanks
