What ink(s) are you waiting for in the mail?

One bottle of Montblanc Leo Tolstoy and one bottle Pelikan Edelstein Amethyst.

I have to wait about 1½ week before the inks can be shipped. Tolstoy was out of stock...

I just received today: 4 older 2 oz. bottles of Sheaffer ink. They have the red boxes, gold writing, white dot over the brand name, and bar code on the bottom of the box. They are the glass bottles with the shelf / inkwell, labels match the box (red, gold writing, a stripe that indicates ink color), and plain black metal cap.

1 Black

1 Blue

2 Blue /black

I'm trying to figure out the age on these. I'm thinking 1980's. Does anyone have any ideas?

Some pictures of this mix would be nice. ;)

A scanner that could handle colors like blue would be nice too. Unfortunately my scanner will be 20 years old later this year and it is struggling with anything other than black and white.

I have also put away the pen I was using that ink mixture in, but I still have a tiny bit left. I'll see if I can find a pen that will show it off, a medium or broad nibbed fountain pen, and see if my digital camera, a mere eight years old, can capture it. This may take a week or more, but I will put it on my "to do" list.

On a sacred quest for the perfect blue ink mixture!

Waiting on Diamine Ancient Copper, Syrah, Majestic Blue and Noodlers Heart of Darkness with a free Charlie. I usually try for the 30 ml. bottles, works better for me. HoD though is a 4.5 oz. bottle. Gonna be around for awhile but as that might be my only black it should be fine.

Sailor Nagasawa Kobe Ur Lapis

Never had to accept an ink in mail because I usually did store pickup.

Unfortunately, in the States, we don't have many brick and mortar stores to just drop in and pick up ink and pens. My closest store would be two hours away by automobile

My reason is a little different. For me, these shops are close by since I travel quite frequently inside Japan and outside it as well.

Plus, parents don't like to receive so many packages so I prefer to pick them up from the shop. :)

My house to Kobe is around 2-2.5 hours via train, so whenever I am visiting for business, I can pick up inks. :)

I would not imagine traveling specifically for inks.

It's actually Australian dollars (Australian site after all) which might make the price a bit more palatable, maybe?

I was once a bottle of ink, Inky Dinky Thinky Inky, Blacky Minky Bottle of Ink!
