What ink(s) are you waiting for in the mail?

Was waiting on Visconti Blue. It FINALLY came three days late...and I like it, but its so similar to another ink I already have. It'll be going up for sale...that was quite anticlimactic. Was really looking forward to getting it.

Just got bottles of MB Midnight Blue and Blue Hour.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

Four boxes of Pelikan 4001 pink carts (yay JetPens!). And still on the hunt for deA Tobacco. Some day.

Just got a bottle of MB Permanent Blue. Merry Christmas to me! This is the most I've ever spent on an ink.

Great ink, well worth the price. Bought my bottle of MB Permanent Blue in June of '14, and even while using it in two pens (MB 146 and Waterman Kultur) daily, have only used about half the bottle.

Have you tried xFountainPens.com for the de A Tobacco ink? Their "line" is named "Architekt" but I believe it is made by deA for them (perhaps exclusively bottled under that label, the bottles ARE the same as deA inks.) I have purchased several of them & cannot notice any differing characteristics from de A labelled inks. I just pulled up their listing & "Tobacco" is currently listed as "available" & priced @ $11.99.

Thanks, barkingpig! Hadn't even thought to check there.

Yes, I've noticed that the Xfountainpens' Architekt inks seem to be relabeled by brand, but that (unlike with their relabeled Diamine inks) the ink names seem to be identical to the De Atramentis names.

One caveat: I haven't ever actually ordered anything from them. I know roughly where their "office" is and have debated contacting them and saying "So, instead of shipping me the order, mind if I just drop by...." and see what they say.

I actually did try to find Xfountainpens' physical location one time a couple of years ago -- the street number of their legal address was in the middle of an intersection with a dead end street, so I presume that it's just mostly a mail drop on said cul-de-sac If I had been able to find street parking I might have spent a little time trying to find which office building they were in. I was currently waiting to get:

  1. Iroshizuku Tsuki-Yo
  2. Iroshizuku Murasaki-Shikibu
  3. Iroshizuku Chiku-Rin
  4. Iroshizuku Yu-Yake
  5. Iroshizuku Ina-Ho

Now I have added:

6. Iroshizuku Shin-Ryoku

Due to the postal service going super slow during this holiday season, I am sure I will get everything till next year. Haha.

I have dreamt of the day where I am holding a Waterman Carene. Sigh... seems too distant I can only see the fog far away.

What other ink is it so similar to?

Ten samples from KWZI, which it seems are coming via pack mule.

Even though the Monochrome Project is still going strong, I slipped in to my friendly neighbourhood online store for some precious liquids, and Sailor Jentle Sky High, Pelikan Fount India, Pelikan Edelstein Aventurine, and J. Herbin Lierre Sauvage is now on their way, hopefully reaching me before Christmas.

Merry Christmas :-)

Mycena Pura is a fascinating ink. It goes down as a vintage, muted shade of pink, with a gorgeous brown bordered line and sheen.

A 3oz bottle of Noodler's General of The Army, a 30ml bottle of Diamine Blue Black, and a 30ml bottle of Diamine Umber. Finally decided to get out of my comfort with Waterman inks and try something new.

It is a nice ink. ^_^

I had Mycena-pura a while back, but couldn't quite appreciate the color at the time, so I sold it. Though, recently, I've grown to enjoy the blush, dusky appearance of it and figured I'd snap it up if I ever came across it again.

One ink from the Kingdom Note Series I've never regretted selling: Tanna Japonensis. I found L'artisan Pastellier Olivastre was the ink I was hoping Tanna Japonesis would be (what a price difference, too. :yikes:).

And Merry Christmas to you too!

I have a bottle of Lamy blue-black on the way (I have to admit that I bought it more for the bottle than the ink, but I'm hopeful that I will like the ink).

I am on the fence about getting some Diamine Oxblood. I had a random cartridge of some purplish red ink with some brown undertones that I could never identify...I believe that I may be on the right track with Oxblood, but (if I do buy it) this will be the fourth ink that I try in my quest to find this elusive color.

!

I prefer Tokiwa-matsu to Tanna, by far. And the standard Jentle inks are also far far cheaper, especially at £6 each from Japan :-)

Olivastre is good too!

I finally broke down and ordered a bottle of iroshizuku ku jaku. I have been resisting because of the price, but it is 20 bucks and change right now on Amazon.
