Today is my day to get all red faced from talking about what I'm waiting for in the mail, I guess :blush: .

 

So, did I fall off the wagon or did I never even get on it this time?

 

I have the following coming some time pretty soon now:

 

Noodler's Ink Beaver, 3 oz.

Noodler's Ink Purple, 3 oz.

Noodler's Ink Dragon's Napalm, 4.50 oz

 

The Beaver and Purple are just adding to what I already have. I mix some colors that I like with those inks. The Dragon's Napalm was at a price I couldn't resist.

Hey, there are already a couple of guys up on this water wagon/truck. Maybe I should join them!

 

 

And it's all arrived! Now I have to figure out what I'm going to do with that Dragon's Napalm B) .

On a sacred quest for the perfect blue ink mixture!

Broke down yesterday and ordered two store-special Noodler's inks from FPH, the Blue Manhattan and the Ellis Island Blue-Black.

 

I am getting the disconcerting feeling that my enjoyment is coming more from searching out and owning these rare inks, rather than using them--sort of a poor man's version of collecting Namiki Emperors.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

New to FPN and new to inks! (I'd always been a blue / black / blue-black kind of a gal).

 

I'm waiting for

 

Parker Quink Red (bottle)

Parker Mini Cartridges in Pink

 

and last week I bought

 

Waterman Inspired Blue (a turquoise)

Waterman Purple

Waterman Green

 

which I've yet to try.

 

I've just discovered the swatches / colour charts for Diamine and J Herbin. Oh boy, I want them all RIGHT NOW! But I will be good and treat myself perhaps to one or two a month.

 

My husband's just ordered an antique roll top desk for our old house and I haven't broken the news yet that it'll be the perfect place to store my newly started fountain pen ... and ink... collection. Luckily, he's just bought his first vintage fountain pen so he will love to use these inks, I'm sure.

Halloween doesn't know it yet, but he's waiting for Diamine Burgundy Rose....and some samples.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Noodler's Apache Sunset, Diamine Autumn Oak, Diamine Ochre, Diamine ASA blue, J.Herbin EoC, Stormy Grey, Aurora blue and De Atramentis Beethoven from other stores.

Out of my many sailor inks, Tokiwa-matsu is my favourite I think. And it's one of the easiest to buy too.

The PP Mocha CRV and HalloweenHJB's gift of some Lie de Thé have made me re-think brown; Diamine Chocolate Brown is heading my way.

Today I ordered two samples of Noodler's Blue Ghost. I also ordered a couple of Pilot MR rollerballs - Black Crocodile and Retro Pop Red. One is for my lovely wife (shhh -- it's a surprise) and the one she doesn't pick will be mine.

 

I'll order a bottle of bright, vibrant, in-your-face red next time.
