I went a little crazy with my first ever order from Vanness pens (the Vannesses?) so now I am waiting for Diamine Blue Velvet, Akkerman #28, Sailor Miruai, and Bung Box Nostalgia. I'm also getting a sample of Ku-jaku. I'm hoping this will complete my pen/ink purchases for awhile, though this site is never helpful in that regard.

The regular J. Herbin line of inks aren't my favorite and I grew out of it rather quick, but many of its inks shade beautifully.

 

If I had to choose favorites from the line, it would be Ambre de Brimanie, Perle Noire, Eclat de Saphir, Blue Nuit, Lie de The and Poussiere de Lune. I'm indifferent to the rest, but that's my preference.

^thanks. I always prefer some suggestions and I tend to agree with them without many questions.

 

These bottles will pose problems in filling a pen unless it's an eyedropper. I'd rather face that problem with sailor ink bottles. I was looking for 100ml bottles of 6 colors, most of which you mentioned in the post above(5), but appears that 100ml bottles have been discontinued.

Perhaps I'm just seeing the remaining stock of the 100ml in some USA websites? Maybe I'm wrong, but as I understand it, J. Herbin only offers 6 colors in the 100 ML size (Perle Noire, Eclat De Saphir, Bleu Nuit , Lie De Thè, Poussiere De Lune, Violette Penssee ). They call this set of six (found in the regular lines) "La Perle des Encres"/"The Jewel of Inks".

Yes, that's the remaining stock of the 100ml bottles. Lacouronneducomte checked with J. Herbin after France woke up from their month long slumber at the starting of September, seems they don't make it anymore.

Yes, they are made in only 6 colors. I did mention that you named most of those colors, 5 to be exact.

 

Initially I was thinking of ordering 4 bottlesx30ml of each color which was formerly available in 100ml. That way, when the ink level gets too low to fill a pen, I can just transfer some ink from the second bottle to get it back to fillable levels.

But that would mean the order would contain 36 ink bottles of 30ml (there are some single bottles too) which would be absurd.

There are another 25 bottles I have ordered and 61 bottle order would be impossible to get through customs without paying them a visit with documentation.

A normal noodlers pen and a Charlie pen. Normal noodlers pen is okay, but the Charlie pen drinks up ink like Charlie sheen drinks alcohol.
