Found out today that the Montblanc Blue-Black I ordered on Amazon may not be the old IG after all. If that's the case, it's going right back, and the seller is going to get some very pointed negative feedback. Do they think we're not paying attention?

Sorry, I haven't. I don't use black neither do I like it. Blue-black is okay.

I do have a bottle of sailor nano particle black ink.

ok. Noodlers black is not available in india, thought you may have tried it.

These inks are coming from USA. Didn't buy them in India.

yeah. i asked pensavenue about noodler and they say noodler is unwilling to sell them here. I wanted to buy it but custom and shipping will be high. so waiting for diamine 100 ml registrar ink to come in stock with pensavenue.com

Did you buy the ink from Amazon because it is not available in N.A. through Chartpack?

When did this so called change take place form IG to conventional formulation? If the new ink is then conventional then why is it not available in N.A?

 

To me it seems strange, because if Pel b/b was indeed IG before the reformulation , what problem would that be? There are plenty of other ferrogallic inks available that are allowed to be sold here.

Was it possible phenol content that barred the Pel b/b??

And I don't have anything inbound, but I plan to pick up the following at the Dallas Pen Show:

 

Pelikan 4001 Black and either Pelikan 4001 Turquoise or Noodler's Navajo Turquoise...depends on which one I like better and if I can dip test them prior to buying. I may also get another bottle of Edelstein Topaz since its down to about 30%...no reason to pay shipping costs if I don't have to!

It's on order and taking time. Not to mention there are multiple bottles of some inks mentioned here like Pelikan amethyst, J. Herbin 1670 collection and custom inks.

I am reconsidering the normal J. Herbin ink line products since the bottles are very impractical and I have bigger nibbed pens.

Also, these are some 45 bottles which are a bit too much (excluding noodlers) so I think I should cut down a little. Customs will kill me.

No longer waiting as these have just been delivered. Loving these Franklin Christoph colours & the bottles are a very practical size & shape.
