Black Tongued Spider Orchid is an interesting color -- I picked up a bottle of it a while back at a pen show.

Montblanc Swan Illusion Plume

An ink I really, really wanted but would likely never pay the retail price for, so I had taken it off my want list. I paid a price I couldn't refuse from a fellow who decided he didn't like the color, claiming he didn't even open the bottle. A Platinum 3776 Briarwood (lighter finish) that I recently got is anxiously waiting in anticipation for a fill of it.

LateToThePartyMe never heard of that ink, so I looked it up. Wow, Spensive.   What's going with this ink?  I'd love to see your evaluation after you've checked it out.  😀👍

I also looked the ink up just now.  It's interesting, but seems to look better coming out of a very broad or italic nib in a review i saw online.

Most of the SE/LE inks that MB puts out are awfully pricy.  I did spring for a bottle of the Jimi Hendrix LE ink at full retail price (well, mostly because JIMI HENDRIX -- only to find I love the color), and did EVENTUALLY get the Beatles one when it was on the market.  Don't recall if I got the Beatles ink or the Leo Tolstoy one at a discount or not.

I lucked out with the MB Encré du Desert ink, finding a full/nearly full bottle a while back at an estate sale at a considerable discount.  Bought it thinking that at that price I could afford to give it away (I expected to hate it, since I don't normally like brown leaning reds or red leaning browns -- only to find I liked the color better than I was expecting, because it's got an interesting violet undertone to it); and I sure didn't buy THAT ink based The Little Prince because I LOATHED the book when I read it....

On the way to me is a bottle of Robert Oster True Blue. The first Oster ink I have bought and if it works out well will try some others.

While not familiar with that one, I've liked a lot of the Robert Oster inks I've tried.

I can't believe there are 236 pages in this thread.

😂

With the new FPN rules, now I REALLY don't know what to put in my signature.

Really?  I'm not.  Of course there was a time a couple of years ago when I was ordering a bunch of inks, and my husband couldn't believe I was getting so many different samples, and I told him, "I don't have NEARLY as many as Amberlea Davis or Sam Capote!"

His response?  "THIS IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE A COMPETITION!"

I don't have any Montegrappa ink.  That's a very interesting bottle shape. 👍🙂

Is the ink, wet, dry or average?

The ink is flowing good, so a little bit wet but dries quick

Finally dropped on a bottle of Blushing Mushroom from FWP. I waver over their stuff - a couple I REALLY like and own, a lot look too pale to be even believable, I don't really like their FOMO based business model and the price per ml is fairly extortionate, but just sometimes I decide WANT THAT ONE and then usually they're OOS everywhere. Their packaging is delightful I must say.

After having a very bad time as a result of an invasive dentist OP, I decided that I need more inks. Haha. 🤭

So I ordered Morgenröte and Gewitterwolke from Fritz Schimpf and Scribo Blue Cosmico and J.Herbin Orange Soleil from Stilo e Stile.

Now I feel better!

(not really )

PS: when already buying inks, I also added a pen to each order ...

One life!
