Very few images of Montblanc Vincent online but what I see is striking! Maybe the first turquoise ink I would like. (And happy birthday, perhaps?!)

It's gorgeous. It has nothing to do with turquoise though - I haven't done a full comparison, but it very much puts me in mind of old Sheaffer blue black. I'll try to post some pictures tomorrow when it's light.

That's pretty much what I thought - like old Sheaffer Blue Black but not quite - when I saw it but Montblanc's website calls it turquoise. (And I just now learned that Montblanc has a store in the city sort of close to where I live, in a mall I have been to quite a few times and somehow managed to miss it. I plan to be in the city this Friday - I hope to visit and be sorely tempted by many things I cannot afford. 😂

Not the best picture (in front of window rather than outside) but you'll see what I mean...

I'm really enjoying it, and will certainly get a backup bottle.

Thanks. I expected the Sheaffer Blue Black would be a bit more grey.

Just now, a couple of Teranishi inks - Antique Black and Traveling Sepia. I do have a sample of the black and really like it. The sepia will be a surprise.

And Montblanc's Vincent ink. I was surprised and delighted to be asked if I would like it as a birthday gift.

What do you like about the black?

It's a warm black with subtle shading, without looking grey or brown.

Will work for pens...

Traveling Sepia is one I don't have. I thought about getting it from Amazon Japan, long before it was available through Amazon.com.au, but ultimately decided to spend my money on something else. I look forward to your opinion of how it compares to your favourite brown inks!

Most of the TACCIA inks (in the Sunao-iro and Ukiyo-e lines) I ordered in the past seven days are now in transit, or at least marked in the past 12 hours as shipped, except for a few ‘backup’ bottles of colours that are already on the move. Along with Sailor standard Blue and Blue Black — would you believe I still don't have those, in spite of having more than five hundred different commercially available inks in my personal library? — and Ink Studio 280 and 670.

That makes nineteen bottles in the mail, and five yet to be dispatched.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

Mine is almost here, so excited! The hard part will be choosing a pen for it. The budget will not stretch to its intended. Hmmm...

I think it looks very much like vintage Waterman (not Herbin) Bleu Nuit, which I am very happy with, so I don't think I will go looking for it. (I wanted to take a look to confirm before I wrote anything.) I'm not quite sure how old this Waterman ink is - it has a mostly yellow label and box and a Harrod's price sticker for £2.25, if that helps narrow down the age.

My sentence was unintentionally vague. To clarify, I meant to write that I expected Sheaffer Blue Black would be a bit more grey than Montblanc Vincent (and, based on @mizgeorge's photo, it does indeed look that way, at least to my eye).

And I'm a bit confused why Montblanc calls it a turquoise.

Another ink on it's way, since I just received shipping notification, is a bottle of Taccia Ukiyo-e Kitagawa Utamaro Usuzumi. It's a traveling companion for a Sailor Lecoule Pale Brown and perhaps a pairing. It will also to be interesting to compare it to the Teranishi Antique Black ordered yesterday.

I told my B&M to order me some Herbin inks...I'd rather he, someone I know, get my couple euro's than, save them....

My B&M does have the MB Drool Corner...got to save that.

Since Corona he's not been doing well as a four generation shop.  I know his mother having sat right next to her, at a couple auctions with her. My wife knew the father, from when the shop was 'toys are somebody' before Toys are US knocked that portion of the shop then, out.

For over a decade, I've been saying soon, at buying Herbin's Indian Orange.

Lie de Thee is my favorite ink.

Cafe Des Iles...I don't remember if I had it or not.

Terre de Fue, I've not had.

I had gone down to the B&M order those inks, in I knew he didn't carry that brand....and ended up buying the new pastel blue Pelikan 200............got to have a B&M to do wild and woolly things.:happyberet:

The Montblanc Vincent ink is here already. We thought it was ordered from an Australian store, but came from Italy via UK... to country Western Australia in less than a week. And no extra charge for the shipping, Express shipping... and a huge box too.

Will work for pens...

Another Taccia ink - the blue purple Aomurasaki has been ordered from Japan. The main item is a Pilot Custom Heritage 91 mechanical pencil (yeah still exploring that part of the stationery warren) and just one ink was needed to qualify for free shipping. I am sure the pent up interest in all things Amazon Japan will slow down, just hasn't done so yet.

This has become a Friday thing for me. If I have yet another week going without outings to eat or shop or enjoy entertainment, I order something online. I look forward to choosing, have a fairly strict budget and create something to look forward to coming in the post. This week there wasn't even a visit to the library... it's become a very quiet life.

Will work for pens...

I just ordered a 350mL bottle of Pilot Blue Black - I will have enough ink to last me a lifetime

We are living in the Golden Age of Inks........thousands of hues and shades....an ink for every mood or paper and nib combo.....

I do have 5 BB's......but at least 5 of every basic color....I do have 20 green or greenish inks.

I was chasing purple, when i ran into the now discontinued 4001 on sale for €1.00...after all who needs green.

It was a lively green0green that shaded!!:yikes:..with in the next year I bought 14 green-greenish inks...now have 20.

Your 350 ml of BB ink will last a while....but will run out. I had two 110ml bottles of ESSR a grand BB ink....and my god they are gone and couldn't be a decade or so ago.....and I don't even use BB...or not much, as all other colors..................................so, the main advice I can give you is to buy  a ream or a 100 sheet box of good to better papers with every three inks you buy ...now that you just bought 7 bottles of ink....make that two paper packs.

Do look up which paper does best with BB.

I'm getting a Lihit Lab A5 Carrying Pouch to hold my sketching stuff* and there just happened to be room in the order for an ink: Taccia Ukiyo-e Hokusai Benitsuchi.

* And retiring the oversize pencil case I've been using for years. It has worked well A5 sketchbook plus a pencase fit inside it easily. It's just old and wearing out.

Will work for pens...
