uh oh

I'm expecting a parcel from Executive Pens with a bottle of PR DC Supershow blue and a bottle of PR Black Cherry

(blame Black Friday)

I just got an email from the couriers, Evri - "there is a delay with your parcel"

I really hope they haven't smashed Supershow Blue everywhere... 😬

The one I was expecting arrived today. It is Sailor Kobe Himalayan Blue. Two bottles of it at 10% off because one is a Christmas gift for my brother. I’ll get the other for Christmas as well.

Sailor Christmas Tea - a lovely reddish orange that reminds of a nice warm evening by the glow of the fireplace.  I intend to use it for Christmas cards & gift addressing.

I got 99 problems but a BIC ain't one!

Sailor Souboku & Seiboku.

Actually already delivered to my brother in LA. I just need to go all the way across the country to pick them up. And then they won't be opened until I'm home, halfway around the world. So, technically, I'm still 'waiting'.

Kind of a co-ink-e-dink, but DC Blue was my first major ink spill. I had just received it and uncapped to check it out, & set it on a side table. I dipped a glass pen in it, and as I extracted it, it was almost like magic but the v-e-r-y tip of the pen snagged the near side of the bottle, and I watched it in what I thought was slow motion as the bottle slid over to the edge, teetered for a sec, & just as I thought I was gonna be ok, it went over.

Suede recliner, grayish-white carpet, my legs & feet -- the stuff went everywhere!  By time I was done "cleaning" [yeah, right - we know how that goes] I don't think I've ever been so sick of one ink color! Oh, this was at my sister & brother-in-law's house, & his chair. He was immensely pleased with me. I figured best I could do was replace the carpet.  *sigh*

But the 'make my day' wasn't over.  When I'd ordered it, PR said on the website that one was the only bottle left.  *sigh* Imagine my immense pleasure in soon finding everybody & his brother was selling it.

It could have been worse, though -- it COULD have been a four oz. bottle of Noodler's Kung Te Cheng....

  • 2 weeks later...

On the heels of the supposed-to-be Corn Poppy Reds, 5 more packs of Montblanc inks:

UNICEF Blue, Mystery Black, Midnight Blue, Toffee Brown and Amethyst Purple.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

The Montblanc inks I've tried from that list are very nice, I think.

I hadn't bought an ink for a while, but bought Diamine Pansy for my partner yesterday, as she's getting into writing and it's a colour she likes in general. Let's hope it is well behaved, otherwise she'll ditch it in double quick time! Haha.

There were a few more colors - Cool Grey, Oyster Grey, Royal Blue - available that I wasn't interested in and a Pop Pink that I was afraid was the same as the Pink I already have.

I'm curious about the Amethyst Purple, as I couldn't find a review for it but it appears to be the replacement for Lavender Purple.

Also have a bottle of Fuyu-gaki coming.

Almost ordered this as I'm curious but I was able to restrain myself.

I was pretty disappointed in Pop Pink.  It’s not saturated enough for me so I’m mixing it with other inks to keep from wasting it.

That doesn't sound like the just plain Pink then, it was fairly saturated, if I recall.

Troublemaker-Milky-Ocean-Ink-60-ml_1536x

Finally found a bottle of "Troublemaker - Milky Ocean" available for sale after more than a year of looking.
Sadly, it was in "Istanbul, Turkey" (Galen Leather) and the shipping cost as much as the ink (FedEx).
I'm hoping it even arrives in a month.
If they come with any wacky import/customs fees I'm just telling them to shove it...I'm already out $30...not a penny more!

*sigh* & already I'm at it!

Dopamine Holly ....wait, what?!?  ....good ol' Samsung Spoilchucker's at it too -- I typed 'Diamine' Holly! *double sigh*

Anyway, the advertised "green with red halo" seemed fitting for the season, and I had intended on getting some in the past so, decided to go for it. Then I find, it's starting to get a bit hard to find, with shop after shop having it marked 'Out of Stock'! Finally found some, & maybe the "limited edition, & when it's gone it's gone forever" was a sucker punch, but for once I felt like I'd be ahead of the game if I went ahead and bought a spare bottle or two, so I did. Thinking, heck, if I don't like it in the long run, I can always sell it, right?  Fait accompli.

One bottle Noodlers Qin Shi Haung red.

Should arrive Friday (12-30-22) ... weather and road conditions between Arizona and South Idaho permitting ... If Utah closes I-15 at Snowville, UT, just south of the ID border today or tomorrow, it probably won't arrive until next year. ☹️

Hahahaha...that's wild. I wonder if they'll install microwave ovens and do custom kitchen deliveries?
Thanks for the link and happy thoughts!

I just got my bottle of that ink from Galen Leather in Turkey in the mail today. They go over the top with the included items, I got Earl Grey tea...turkish coffee...an "evil-eye" warding stone, lemon refreshing towels, a leather single-pen case, stickers, a leather key fob, a letter written in some multishading blue ink that I MUST HAVE and some instant turkish coffee that my wife immediately stole...er...reappropriated. 🤣

Anyhoo...I'll definitely be ordering with them again! That was quite the nice surprise!
Especially since I've GOT to find out what ink that was in the letter they sent (it's in another language...I don't know what it says)

I've been trying to enjoy the "Milky Ocean" ink, but it's much drier than this pen will permit.
I've already placed an order for a replacement Opus-88 stub nib unit and get this...they're giving me one for FREE with my order!!
HAH!! Talk about right time, right place!!
😁

Yeah, the selection of ink brands that Vanness carries is astounding (they were the first place outside of the Akkerman store in the Hague to carry Akkerman inks, for instance).

Yup! Galen is one of my fave sellers - their cust.svc knocks it outta the park!  And that's the key (you found); build up your order 'til the freight's worth it. Last order, from Turkey, was delivered here in NC, with the nice 'bonus' goodies (coffee AND tea, +) just 4 days after I ordered. You can't beat that with a stick!

BTW, if you'll look around that link, you should see a nice sample  set (5ml) of Troublemakers. I'm trying hard to talk myself out of one. [But think I'm not gonna listen.]
