What ink(s) are you waiting for in the mail?

I have given in and bought a cleaner ink - I had to debate which of four threads(this one, cleaner inks, what have you learned..., let's talk) I wished to post this to.

I have bought Sailor DoYou(here's to you, @ErrantSmudge!).  I have learned that I will, @A Smug Dill ,@AmandaW,et. al., sometimes find that it makes sense to purchase ink on Amazon given that I have Prime.

It is being sent from Japan and will cost <$12 for the bottle.  Minimums for free shipping stateside start at $50 and go up from there.  Paying for shipping costs at least $7.50. The one store that I think tries to keep shipping costs down doesn't seem to carry Sailor inks.  There is a landscape notebook I wish to purchase, but none of the stores that carry it stock Sailor ink.

So, I have now bought ink on Amazon, and am waiting for it. Given my penchants for browns, @amberleadavis, I hope I like this as more than a cleaner!

I look forward to seeing how you like it.

I picked up a bottle of Sailor Manyo Fuji at the SF Pen Show after discussing the dual-shading inks with Jesi Coles @ the Dromgoole's table. I've played with it for a couple of days and now I have 3 more in transit: Ayame, Yamabuki, and Haha. I tend to not invest in light-toned inks because I don't paint, I write, and I want to be able to read them easily as well as people I correspond with. That said, these are awfully nice inks at a decent price-point... for upper-end inks, that is.

An ink that while being used has the added benefit of getting old stains and residue of previous inks out of your pen.  I got Sailor Do You, but there are others - there's a thread on it here:

Since I picked these up today, the ink I am waiting for is Oblation's third release. It is a mystery color. I guess I am waiting for them to get it in the mail haha!

Once I secure that third bottle, I might be willing to share samples...

French ink in the same bottles that L'Artisan Pastellier uses for their Classique range. The listings for both say they are a collaboration with Papier Plume. Hmmmmmm ...

I'm hot-linking the sample images from their website (sorry - there is a lot of whitespace above & below each image). They look like wonderful colors! But, good golly, $25 for 30ml.

Looking forward to the reveal of the mystery ink.spacer.png

Well, received my shipments. Got my first dud bottle of ink, the DeA Ebony looks nothing like the images online, it looks like weak coffee and has no redness to it. Oh well. The American Blue is somewhat interesting, the Emerald Green and Dark Reseda Green are great.

@PithyProlix they are a little print shop making their own cards and selling vintage typewriters. It is expensive for repackaged Papier Plume, but ok for supporting the local hipster business ;)

I took a pic while there:

I suspect Papier Plume ink, or at least some of it, is repackaged L'Artisan Pastellier ink. EDIT: "Repackaged" is not the right term. What I meant is that I suspect that L'AP makes custom colored ink for Papier Plume who then sell it under their own brand.

I moved from Seattle a few years ago after about 13 years there, with many visits to Portland. Good on you for the local support. I definitely get the hipster vibe on this. 😅

Ok, perhaps I was mistaken. The Ebony goes down looking like weak coffee when fresh and becomes a reddish brown (though still lighter than what I've seen online) overnight.

Researching another item's purchase this weekend I came across a sale price on one I've had on my wish list for some time -- couldn't let it escape!  '2 Minutes To Midnight' from Private Reserve, was shipped '9 Minutes After Ten' this morning!  Or so they say.

It's kinda surprising how many 'Midnight' inks are out there.

And kinda not.

Well, it is a daily occurrence! I find it surprising there aren't more "Noon" inks for contrast.
