Let me guess, milligram outlet?

Close, but no Sailor Pen and Message Cigar.

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

I guess the actual millgram shop? 🤔

Yes. I was looking for something to pad my order that time to qualify for free shipping, and noticed that Milligram itself was also offering the bottles at $5. With the Friends For Life discount, the effective price was $4.50.

Yeah, I know. I still have six (or is that seven?) unopened bottles bought at $5 or less, after giving some away to friends.

So after rejecting SBRE Brown, as too close to Taccia Brown, I now am awaiting: (first illegible line is Cognac Brown)

I had a $20 credit at Pen Chalet, so I ordered a few basics to round out my foundational inks:

  • Quink Black
  • Waterman Black
  • Pilot Blue-Black carts (12ct) - these are for a Pilot Myu I have on the way from Singapore

I don't really need all these black inks. But I like having a basic "set" of the main inks I use - usually that means Black, Blue, and Blue-Black. It feels more complete for me. This batch will complete Aurora, Lamy, Kaweco, Quink, and Waterman. Technically Iroshizuku, too, but I don't count that one as a basic foundational ink. My main inks need to work in new and vintage, regardless of filling system or barrel material.

Hehe, I think I need to make up my mind and then pay-it-forward or sell a few of my inks.

If a Pilot Iroshizuku ink does not work in a pen, irrespective of whether its new or vintage, then I'd be inclined to conclude there's a defect in the pen or a problem in its operation. Same goes with Sailor, Platinum, Herbin, etc.

Even Lamy Crystal Ink Topaz will work in all of my pens, insofar as allowing them to function properly as writing instruments. It's just that it has somehow glued or fused the plastic collar, that houses the nib and feed, to the gripping section in two of my Moonman pens and ‘ruining’ them for me, because I expect to be able to unscrew the nib unit. I'm not using that ink again in anything but entirely expendable pens, but those could be new or vintage. (I do have one ‘vintage’ pen from 1970 or earlier that is entirely expendable to me.)

Jinhao x450 dark green with M nib.

Thanks for sharing, Jack - but are you sure this is the right place to put this? It's (at least mainly) for talking about ink on the way, or just arrived... :D
But hey, mixing up
things can be fun too!

Thinking of placing a large order for Akkerman inks on the Akkerman website.

Delfts Blue

SBRE Brown

Hopjes Bruin

Shocking Blue

Grean Teal? The one named like a park.

I am a bit hesitant. Since I already have 35 inks bottles, and I tend to only open 3 at a time. Then fully use, and open 3 more.
