I find it helpful to remember that money's only money, but ink's, well, y'know, INK!

Add lightness and simplicate.

No longer waiting -- the Dark Blue Decimo, stub nib, arrived in the mail yesterday from Vanness Pens, along with a small bottle of their ink additive and samples of Robert Oster Shake and Shimmer No Fixed Address and Kobe Rokku Forest Blue.

The question now is whether you will wrap it and put it under the tree or ink it today. Merry Christmas!

Will work for pens...

Oh, it's a no-brainer.  Inked it up yesterday morning (although perhaps Yamabudo was not the best ink to use, since I was in the waiting area of a hospital while my husband was waiting on getting a cat scan.... :headsmack:  Didn't think about that until I was tossing out the paper towel I wiped the nib and with before re-inserting the nib assembly back into the pen....

Kinda looked like someone had a nosebleed....  Maybe Tsuyu-kusa would have been a better choice after all.

After no USPS updates since12/12, my Pinkly! is suddenly "out for delivery" today.

eta: Sure enough, it was in my mailbox when I got up this evening. :)

I should be set for life now.

I was tempted by a Diamine-specific discount code and picked up quite a few bottles without having ever swatched or tested samples (a dangerous practice that I won't repeat!!! ...I hope), so waiting for about 10 new colors from Diamine to arrive sometime next week! 😳

Oh whatcha get?  I have a lot of Diamine inks, between samples and full bottles (there's this constant race between them and Noodler's as to which I have more of -- with De Atramentis a distant third....

Of course I blame the ink reviewers on FPN.  I now want to try Classic Green and that GORGEOUS Hong Kong exclusive that has the blue shimmer dust and crazy amount of sheen that I saw photo of a day or two ago.

Oh I know - I've seen so many great ink reviews just in the short time I've been on FPN and I feel like my ink wishlist has quadrupled in size! As for what's coming to my doorstep, I'm expecting: Amber, Ancient Copper, Apple Glory, China Blue, Claret, Cool Green, Deep Magenta, Havasu Turquoise, Imperial Purple, Oxblood, Scarlet, Violet, and Woodland Green (don't judge me - I had a coupon code!!! 😉 )

I don't know which color I'm most excited to try - maybe Cool Green or Havasu Turquoise? I'll have to start posting some reviews and swatches here too!

Diamene ultra green.  One of two greens I like.  Montblanc Irish green is the other.  They seem fairly similar.

Geha Königsblau and Geha Blau-Schwarz.

I was hoping they would arrive in the pretty mild weather before christmas, but unfortunately they didn't. Not really surprising with all the christmas packages being sent around, but still...

Now the temperatures have dropped quite a bit, so I'm kinda worried they might get harmed by the cold 😬

Havasu Turquoise has lots of shading.  I have a small bottle of it, but have a slight preference for the almost identical Edelstein Topaz, which I think flows a tiny bit better -- but of course Havasu Turquoise is a LOT less expensive).  Ancient Copper is an interesting color, but is one of those inks that tends to have build up on nibs (nothing dire, it just wipes off, but is something you should watch for).  The others I haven't tried.

The shading on Havasu Turquoise is what I'm most excited about! All of the inks in my collection so far are rather flat with little to no shading so I'm excited to try. And thanks for the heads up on Ancient Copper, Ruth! :)

My Secret Santa sent me Colourverse Ham Glistening (the monkey alone on the bottle makes it for me) and samples of Kobe Ijinkan Mint & Colourverse Photon which I'm also excited to try. I've got toooo much ink but happy about it :')

Happy Holidays everyone!

Turns out my dad has a Montblanc 144 rollerball that has been dried out for years. I told him I would order some refills for it.

I ended up ordering from montblanc.com because I also wanted some inks - and the usual shops are sold out of this one or that one. Even their website was out of some of the basics. I ordered:

  • Royal Blue
  • Midnight Blue
  • Irish Green
  • Burgundy Red

And then I turned around and ordered from amazon:

  • Mystery Black - it was $5 cheaper!
  • Modena Red - MB was out of it :(
  • Pilot Blue-Black - cute little 30ml bottle for $6.99; how could I resist an ink I have been meaning to try?

Along with the Jinhao 450 and the Wingsung 601 in the same amazon order, I am hoping this will be the end of my outrageous and unstoppable pen spending for this month.

I haven’t bought a new color in a few years, but this year being what it was I decided a new color is exactly what I need to start the 2021 Hobonichi Cousin out with. Currently awaiting Diamine Imperial Purple.

I have a friend in Hong Kong, she keeps an eye out for exclusive inks for me. She could only get two bottles of this ink available and benevolently sold me one.
I'm hoping it gets here sometime soon...stupid holiday postal snafu.
😒

I would be happy to share a sample of it with you once it arrives, if you like.
I attached a pic of the ink in action...

That is mighty kind of you (and of your friend)! A sample would be greatly appreciated. I need to get myself an FP friend in Hong Kong. Actually, I need my friends to start appreciating FPs and inks, in general. We may go broke but we'd have a blast.

I ordered Kobe #44 Sumaura Seaside Blue that I stumbled on by chance while looking for other inks based on just the swab shown on the ad, figured it might go good in the M205 blue. Kind of wish I'd actually checked the photo links in Saskia's review first but we'll see.
