This is my year for ink I think. I just ordered Montegrappa Fuchsia. I have already bought close to a dozen bottles of ink this year already. Gotta stop!

I feel like the paper companies are gonna be making a killing in the next little while...

May your inks arrive swiftly.

and may your inks be kind 😁.

All this writing and yet my handwriting's actually getting worse. It's a talent.

There are times where I think someone will be looking at my journals after I'm long gone, and being convinced that I had multiple personality disorder....

Changing pens and inks every other paragraph probably wouldn't help my case either 😆.

Have ordered yet more KWZ samples because I have an ink hoarding disease apparently:

Another bottle of R&K Scabiosa to see what's going on with the color (my old bottle was more warm red-purple than the new bottle which is more cold blue-purple with some wash of yellow).

Also R&K SketchInks in Emma, Frieda, and Carmen.

All from Germany. Hopefully they won't disappear into a major shipping delay.

A few samples of Sailor inks and 2 full sized bottles of the 15ML Sailor inks

De Atramentis Ochre. Threw in a sample with a recent order not expecting much and it's the dull salmon rust color I have long been looking for but unable to find. Salmon/coral/flamingo inks are usually too bright to me for everyday writing. This one is similar to the excellent Diamine Ochre, earthy but with a pink rather than a yellow undertone. Hoping the bottle arrives before sample is drained - I can't put this one down!

Have you posted a writing sample of the blue purple version? I would love to see it.

I find that fresh Scabiosa, especially a new bottle, is a lovely blue-violet but dries, and oxidizes, toward red. I think it also ages, possibly darkens, once opened, in the bottle somewhat (?) as when I moved on to bottle #2 the fresh blue-violet took me back to my first impressions of bottle #1.

The wild scabiosa of my childhood, were a lovely blue-violet, but Google shows a wide range of shades from blue to red.

However, I have only ever experienced red-violet in the wash, so this yellow you mention is indeed mysterious!

Have you tried Birmingham Pens' Lilac Wind and Violet Starling? They have an almost identical line color, but one has a blue base with pink separating out, the other has a pink base with blue separating out! . . . but it's still Scabiosa that I write with every day!

Yes, I had started a thread about it a while ago, here it is:

Just placed an order with Vanness for three bottles:

  • Pelikan 4001 Black 62.5ml $14.00
  • Waterman Mysterious Blue 50ml $11.30
  • Kaweco Midnight Blue 30ml $14.00

Also ordered two Parker converters, for a couple of my P45's, as well as an A5 sized Rhodia dot pad. (the A4 sized one I have been using for work scratchpad is just too darn big on my little desk)

Based on bottle size, the Kaweco is twice the price of the Pelikan, but I tried a sample before and liked it. Have not tried the Waterman before, but I love my bottle of Serenity Blue, so decided to give it a chance. Same with the 4001 Black. Not that I needed it - I have four different bottles of black already, and all work great. But I somehow felt I needed a bottle, to go alongside my 4001 Royal Blue. (and 4001 Dark Green, but it's only the 30ml bottle LOL)

Pelikan Moonstone and Iroshizuko Yama Guri are on the way from Pulp Addiction - an Australian online retailer. I've only bought from this one once before, but it was positive and after recent poor service from another more local place I'm wanting to find another go-to. Shipping is going to be slow, I'm pretty sure AusPost is using camels instead of planes at the moment.

I have plenty of grey and brown inks already.

Will work for pens...

I like Yama-Guri. It has a little bit of a water resistance it to it I like. That and Noodler's Walnut are my go to Brown's.

Currently waiting on a few Blackstone inks:

Lemur Lime

Blue Cashmere

Red Cashmere

Partially to try new ink and partially because the guy behind Lemur Inks does a podcast I've enjoyed listening to.

Im waiting for Pelikan Brilliant Black, Dark Green, and Blue Black.

That's a nice trifecta. The Pelikan 4001 line is underrated, in my opinion. I particularly like the Blue-Black.

My rather large order recently arrived. All Noodler's:

  • Blue Black
  • Bad Black Mocassin
  • Bad Belted Kingfisher
  • Bad Green Gator
  • Tsvetayeva

Wanted to have an archive/bulletproof set to write things that I don't want to lose.

Right now, I'm waiting on some samples:

Robert Oster Carbon Fire and Grey Seas (the review someone did of Grey Seas completely won me over).

Ferris Wheel Tanzanite Sky (this will be my first foray into the Ferris wheel line).

Noodler's Purple Mountains Majesties.

I had a bunch of other samples in the cart, but decided that I could wait on some (they were brands/colors that weren't going anywhere anytime soon, and/or were a mite too pricy -- especially since I was also ordering two pens). And I thought about getting some Noodler's Harold's Hearse, as a joke gift for my husband -- until I saw how badly it feathered on the swatch card image.... :( There were also a few that just weren't in stock at Vanness, like a sample of Edelstein Moonstone, and De Atramentis Pompadour Pink.

But I will live to sample another day....

I do have a couple of bold Fisher Space Pen refills, as well as a 5-pack of Quink Blue carts, on the way. I guess that counts. :)
