Pilot Iroshizuku "Tsuki-Yo" (having gone through 2 sample vials of it, finally got a bottle)

Colorverse "Albert" + "V2 Rocket"

Colorverse Joy in the Ordinary "Brunch Date"

Colorverse "Warped Passages" (was a free gift with order, but I am now super intrigued with "Extra Dimension" that normally accompanies it. Seems like a darker version of Tsuki-Yo.)

One of the 3 ink Iro sample sets, with Ama-iro, Fuyu-gaki and Syo-ro.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

Kobe Nagasawa Kano-Cho Midnight

Seeking a Parker Duofold Centennial cap top medallion/cover/decal.
My Mosaic Black Centennial MK2 lost it (used to have silver color decal).

Preferably MK2. MK3 or MK1 is also OK as long as it fits.
Preferably EU.

  • 2 weeks later...

I had a 10% off coupon from Jenni Blick which I used to rationalize throwing a bottle of Herbin's newish Vert de Gris into the cart. I'm not sure why I need a gray green ink, but I really wanted it and don't have one in my already truly excessive collection of 200+ inks.

As you can see, my 2020 ink, pen, and paper embargo is going well.

As you can see, my 2020 ink, pen, and paper embargo is going well.

I ordered a bottle of J.Herbin Vert de Gris yesterday as well, along with Bleu des Profondeurs, while I was at it breaking my own embargo big time. So far, five (cheap!) Daiso fountain pens of various models, then three not-so-cheap pens and two bottles of ink. What next?

I endeavour to be frank and truthful in what I write, show or otherwise present, when I relate my first-hand experiences that are not independently verifiable; and link to third-party content where I can, when I make a claim or refute a statement of fact in a thread. If there is something you can verify for yourself, I entreat you to do so, and judge for yourself what is right, correct, and valid. I may be wrong, and my position or say-so is no more authoritative and carries no more weight than anyone else's here.

Waiting for my new bottle of Shikiori Yonaga. I ordered it on Amazon about a month ago since I still have a little under half a bottle at home. Should arrive later this month.

Yesterday I ordered two bottles of ink: Sailor Manyo Haha and Sailor Manyo Nekoyanagi - both pastel colors but with the multi-dimensional coloring that I love.

Pen ”pouches” Obviously, you need something to carry your fun new pens around in, right? I’ve bought some Pelikan, some Montblanc, and now I’m eyeing a Smythson. Weird how one goes on these buying sprees. Or is it just me?

My new ink arrived today, but they sent Gris Nuage instead of Vert de Gris. They’ve already sent the return label and are sending out replacement ink. Sadly, I already have a bottle of Gris Nuage, but I can’t remember when I last used it.

I already bought the last three Louis Cardini leather double pen cases (of a model not shown here) in The Pen Shop (Sydney)'s fire sale, but that order was placed on 30 December, so it doesn't count against this year's purchases. :)

My favourite are the DiLoro double pen cases (but the brand's single pen sleeves are junk, in my opinion, and even the sleeve I clumsily made myself from a piece of scrap leather is better; pity I bought ten of them!), and the six- and twelve-pen Visconti Dreamtouch cases. I also have a Royce Leather, a Kaweco, a Staedtler and several Rotring leather pen cases; the Staedtler and Rotring cases are nice enough, but really only fit for very slender pens, while the Kaweco three-pen case is more suited to shorter pens.

A bottle of Pilot Iroshizuku Take-Sumi just shipped from Pen Chalet.

A black ink intended for use in a Pilot Custom 823 (M) "Smoke" that I may or may not order in the next few days.

I suggest may not order because I might order the "Amber" instead -- and then also order a bottle of MB James Purdey & Sons Single Malt (brown).

But at $60 for the MB ink, I need to sleep on it for a few more days. :P

Been on the hunt for a dark, rich blue black that still shows blue. Enter Akkerman Dutch Masters 08 Ruisdael's "Stormy Blue" that just arrived and its a beauty

Visconti Blue to replace the bottle of Asa-Gao I just finished. I was thinking of Monteverde Sapphire Blue, as a Penman Sapphire surrogate, but it is not available locally, so am hoping the Visconti will be in that ballpark...

Vintage. Cursive italic. Iron gall.

Just placed an order with Vanness for a Vulcan's Coral Ahab and a Clairefontaine side-stapled 1951 notebook (raspberry). To go with them:

  • Noodler's Black Swan in Australian Roses (bottle)
  • Organic Studios Emily Dickinson Posie Pink (sample)
  • Robert Oster Cafe Crema brown(sample)

Adding a sample or two to an order to reach the $40 free shipping limit on a small order is such a great way to try new inks. And Vanness samples are nice and big. (4 ml)

Two replacements for almost empty 2014/2015-vintage, iron-gall inks: Rohrer & Klingner's Salix & Scabiosa

A bottle of Platinum Classic (i-g) Cassis-Black

Living in the southern part of the "Great White North" makes the shipping of ink problematic. If a package has to wait a while in our exposed, Canada Post "Super Boxes", the ink inside can freeze & expand enough to break bottles or leak all over the contents. Why do I know this?

Wonderpens of Toronto (no affiliation, except as a satisfied repeat customer) has a "Winter" ink shipping policy to direct all packages to the nearest Post Office for customer pick up. This way, at least there is some assurance that my package will not be left in a below 0 degrees C. environment.

Visconti Blue will.

I have Visconti's Blue (in carts) & bottled Iroshizuku Asa-Gao as well. Both of these inks are in a pleasant mid-blue range.

Been using Visconti Blue carts as my regular ink in a Kaweco Special FP for over a year. This blue ink has really grown on me. As a credible colour replacement for the fabulous OMAS Sepia of the past, Visconti's version of Sepia is quite charming. I have this ink (also in carts) running in my ss. Kaweco Lilliput.
