Graf Von Faber Castell Violet Blue, my first ink from this brand.

It doesnt seem to be a very popular colour. I think its because it is unsaturated & slightly dry. However, I love it; the shade of violet is beautiful & it has such a refined vintage appearance. Beautifully subtle. Certainly not in-your-face like many of the high-sheening, shimmery-sparky inks flooding the market right now. Yes, those are popular & do have a place, but Im becoming increasingly fond of quiet, soothing colours that take time to be appreciated.

Enjoy your ink when you get it.

Thanks, I like the look of it but as I prefer wet inks I hope it’s not too dry. I bought a GVFC Violet Blue FP with an OB nib, so hopefully it will flow ok.

Arriving tomorrow, two staples—Sailor Jentle Blue and Platinum Blue-Black.

I love the smell of fountain pen ink in the morning.

@LizEF, and those are all in full retail bottles, too; no samples of ≤ 3ml there (even though some of our fellow forum members like to joke that a 15ml or 20ml retail bottle offered in the manufacturer's catalogue is just a sample to them).

I certainly won't be reviewing all of those inks, though!

I figured as much! Hope you enjoy all those inks. I need to work up to writing that much! Ink reviews and a new "job" next year may help.

Right now my writing hand is sorta out of commission from a bad case of tendonitis in the wrist, to the point of having to strap it with tape so I cannot move my thumb (much). :( I certainly hope it gets better by the time the inks arrive!

Oh man... feel better soon! :(

Just ordered a couple of bottles of Sailor Souboku from La Couronne Du Comte (code: FPD2018).

Had been waiting for info about those from a few indie retailers here in Finland but couldn't pass the FPD sale there... :D

...seems that I will be waiting for my Souboku for a fair bit more. LCDC only had one bottle so they had to order more from Japan. Patience might be a virtue but like all virtues, it is in short supply these days...

Three of the inks I ordered from LCdC on the weekend are not in stock; two of them were supposed to be restocked in September but their supplier hasn't come through yet, or so I was told. It's just as well I'm not in a hurry to get my hands on those, but I do want LCdC to send the other seventeen bottles now.

What I'm really not happy about, though, is that the pen and the 45-slot pen display case I ordered are not in stock either.

I wish LCdC would show current stock status before you order. I’ve been caught out a couple of times & ended up cancelling after waiting far too long.

Just this minute I received an email message from LCdC advising that they will ship the in-stock items tomorrow.

They seem a bit iffy about when the remaining items will be available for order fulfilment, though. First they said it's going to be a week and a half (from Monday), then it is the week after, and now it's back to "will arrive next week", even though previously they told me the J.Herbin 1670 inks were supposed to have been restocked in September.

Still, I'm glad I was able to lock down a good price (at 20% off) and free shipping on items such as the pen display case. Nobody else will ship such an item to me from overseas for (delivery charges of) less than the effective price I paid for the item itself!
