I just spent too much time yesterday going through the Vanness website. They have some De Atramentis inks that don't seem to be otherwise available in the US. As well as brands that don't have a lot of US retailers. Unfortunately, I'm now somewhat conflicted. They have an ink I THOUGHT I wanted -- D'A Albrecht Dürer. But it's been changed (and I double checked the D'A website to be sure). IT's no longer relabeled "Silver Grey". :( NOW it's being listed as "Anthracite" which is some flavor of black. So now I'm completely conflicted.... Also feeling poor, because we are going to a family wedding on the West Coast next month and need to be juggling airline tickets and car rental fees on top of having to pay the school taxes....

The good news for my wallet is that pretty much ALL the Kobe inks were currently out of stock....

Papier Plume - Mardi Gras Indians Purple.

I have not tried any of the inks from Papier Plume. I saw this LE purple and decided to give them a shot - purples are something I don't have many of but quite enjoy the few I have.

Couldn't resist ordering Nathan's new Brexit, a beautiful bulletproof dark blue exclusive to PurePens in the UK. They also have the old Diamine 80 ml bottles on sale, so I picked up a bottle of Salamander.

Awaiting a couple of Barrister's inks from Justwrite, and a couple of Dr Ph Ocean inks that it was pointed out to me were on sale from Amazon for $5 each.

Seriously thinking about the Brexit ink, as I have decided not to go for some Bung Box Hatsukoi.

Or maybe some more Asa-gao and Kon-peki, as together in some magic ratio, they should make Faux Penman Sapphire #10.

Sigh... Decisions, decisions... Or I could eat.

The cats are declining to not eat. They are looking at my nice, soft, juicy thighs with malice aforethought.

The VANNESS Folk are WONDERFUL, as ALWAYS, BUT I think BungBox is pretty nice to have included the ONLY American retailer of their ink with a shipment containing this ink, concurrent with the MassDrop sale.

I think there are some pretty FINE people making our inky indulgences possible!

Mike Vanness is awesome. After months of check many times a day for SPP, I slept in late and I missed it. I was heartbroken. I put an ad up here for WTB SPP and he actually saw it, invoiced me, and sent me one ...(what I personally believe was his own bottle.) I was a fan for life after that!

Some samples from Vanness: KWZI Azure #1 and Grey Plum, Robert Oster Purple Rock, and Papier Plume Midnight Blue (I had wanted Caramel, too, but they were sold out of samples :().

Also, I'm taking a chance, and ordering a bottle of De Atramentis Albrecht Dürer. We'll see if I like the color. If not, when it's empty I'll clean the bottle out and refill it with DA Silver Grey.... B)
