Cartridge caps

Somebody must have invented this by now. I've got three or four cartridges that are open but only half used, and I wish I could seal them to preserve for later use. In general, it would be nice to fill a dozen cartridges with inks, "cap" them, and carry them with me so that I could switch freely between them like I would between corn or flour tortillas.

You can use tapered EPDM rubber stoppers from McMaster-Carr.

Thanks for the tip. I was looking for something more useful than Saran wrap to cap a Pilot cart today.

You're quite welcome. It's a good idea to carry re-sealed cartridges in a waterproof container of some sort, just to be safe.

For long cartridges like long international, Parker, etc., I use the fat rubber bands that hold broccoli buns together at the grocery store. Perfect. No leaks. For Sheaffer cartridges, I use the wedge-shaped erasers for pencils and put a little pinch of poster putty in each one. Perfect fit. No leaks. For the international pipsqueaks, I cut fat rubber bands from an old inner tube for a skinny-tire bicycle.
