REPAIR REFERENCE INFORMATION

Hello Everyone

The above is a terrific resource and much appreciated. Whilst it is useful to those in America, perhaps it would be nice to see a companion list for Europe. Any chance we could put one of those together?

WANTED: Specialists in...

Nib Repair / Smoothing / Adjusting - Sac / Piston Repair and Replacement, Etc.

Testimonials would be useful, too.

Just a thought.

Regards,

Nick

Hi, doctor! I share some of the above requests, but I have some additional specialized needs.

I have a great and highly usable long, thick black Sheaffer Balance lever-filler that fell onto my desk and now the end of the barrell is cracked and about to come off. Does anybody know what the composition of the barrell material is? Also, what kind of glue or cement could be used and what sorts of cement absolutely should not be used? I do not want to experiment on this pen. It's value is now reduced, but it is still beautiful and useful.

I also have a Viscount piston-filler that is leaking from the filler knob. Clearly there is a need for a rebuild, but how do you get it open and does Viscount sell any parts? Or, anybody have an expert?

Finally, the list of resources should include sources for specialized tools, not just rubber bits and supplies. For example, what's the best deal in a Vac wrench? What Frank said in Da Book is now old news, at least as far as suppliers goes.
