I'd love to see a photo of your full collection. From the sounds of it, you have some very nice pens.

)))) Me too! :roflmho:

My collection is in different locations now. Due to lack of free space and security (the most expensive pens I keep in the vault).

But I hope to put them all in one place by the end of 2010 ) At least I am doing my best for that!

Here's a couple of photos of mine. Bought this recently from pengallery.

It's a bit short on height so some of my large pens don't fit. It holds 24

of my pens and costs under 200 bucks. Not a bad deal considering the finish.

Bear Down! Nice pens!

I am very fortunate that my lovely wife has allowed me to make a Pen/Watch space in our new home. I am turning the whole room slowly into a pen/watch/ephemera museum. Well, a modest one at least, not a lot compared to some of the people on here.

Here are a few pictures. I will lead off with my pen chest. One rule that I would tell you is to figure out how many pens you think you will need a case/chest for. THEN, take that number and multiply it by 10. I have been collecting for over 10 years now and FINALLY got smart and just got a huge chest made that I cannot outgrow! smile.gif

I converted a vintage spool cabinet into my pen case. I haven't taken pictures yet with my pens resting in this case yet. I need to do that. The picture with the top lid raised shows only the boxes that I was putting in at the time, which was none ... it's now full and I have to store boxes elsewhere.

Here is mine. It only holds 10 pens. I usually just store those in my current rotation in this case. The rest get cleaned, dried, and put into their original boxes for storage. That usually does not last very long as I rotate my current pens quite often. At least this means my pens are usually in pretty good shape. The case was bought several years ago at the Bombay company. One shot is with the case closed. When you grab the top of the case and pull it towards you, the pens pop up as the mechanism rises when the top is pulled forward. This make it very easy to select a pen and grab and go. I do wish it had more capacity, but I still like the case very much.

How very different ! I do like that and it also saves on desk space as well with the pens being vertical. What is the Bombay Co. ?

Here is a link to the Bombay company online store. Unfortunately I have not seen these cases since I bought mine over ten years ago. You are right about the pens being vertical, it is a significant advantage. I can even put the fountain pens point down if I wish. The greatest advantage is for rollerballs. Since they are point down they do not dry out as quickly (which I have noticed they do, especially the MB refills).

If anyone is interested I might get a quote to make those upright cases - there is a guy near where we live who makes jewellery and watch boxes .... maybe he'd be interested to make these? Just need sensible basic dimensions or preferred storage volumes - say, 10 pens - or 30 pens etc.

I am in Australia by the way, but these would post pretty easily depending on size. The "glass" could be ploycarbonate which is as clear but obviously would travel far more safely than glass ...

I wonder if doing it so the pens were at a ten degree angle or so would look even better?
