Does MB offer pen boxes? I think there would be a demand among MB aficianados. I'd buy one.

Yes, they do have boxes. There are lacquered wood boxes of different styles, and leather boxes. The ones that are in current production are lacquered wood boxes for 10 or 20 pens with ot without an engravable gold plate, and a leather box for 8 pens. They also had jewelery boxes which look the same as the pen boxes on the out side, but have slots for 3 pens, a pilow for a watch and two small devisions for rings, cuff links, etc.. I don't know if these are still available.

This is a link to the pen case from (fountainpen.de). I don't think these pen cases are on the official MB site, not everything they make is on there. To be honest, I haven't seen them in all the boutiques I've been to. Flagship boutiques should have them though. By the way, Visconti makes beautiful pen cases in many different designs and styles and even different wood finishes. I think they're worth looking into as well.

The MB pen box is rather nice... simple, elegant, and clean, just the way I like it.

Darius,

Thanks for the info and link. It's a nice box, but I wonder if MB makes one with a larger capacity?

They make one for 20 pens... the best thing to probably do would be email them and ask.

Jeen,

The Box pictured from Darius' link IS a 20 pen case, it has two removable levels, one on top of the other.

Here are pictures of mine:

http://picasaweb.google.com/rvobmd/MBWoode...feat=directlink

These are out of production...hard to find and retailed for $695 new.......I can't get myself to use mine! :headsmack: I treat it as a NOS mint pen!!! So it remains a "NOS Box in a box"

I show it to Niksch every once in awhile when he riles me up just to upset him.. :roflmho:

I asked the MB Boutique several months ago and they told me the 20 pen black lacquer box is discontinued. They only have the leather box. I ended up buying both off ebay for less than the price of one leather box from MB.

Darius is right, Visconti make some nice boxes, but I had a chance to play with them a bit at their boutique but they felt very delicate and are actually thin particle board (1/8-3/16") with very thin veneer. You can often see the pieces of particle board behind the veneer if the particle board is not finished perfectly. Also the pen dividers in the Visconti boxes rattles, which bothered me.

To each his own, but I can vouch for the MB boxes. They're solidly made, elegant, and if you're patient, you can find them with some research.

cheers

Wael

I didn't know that they discontinued the wood cases. I guess I should get one before they are sold out.

Well, I think I need to show you my treasure box :)

I wonder does anyone know about it? It take around 3-4 months to produce and I am proudly the owner of the chest #2

Does Anyone know it?

I'd love to see a photo of your full collection. From the sounds of it, you have some very nice pens.

The maker and another example was at the DC pen show. It was quite something to see. And lift!

This is what I use, far far better than the one shown above as the pens do not touch each other.

Mine is similar but in walnut - doesn't have a lock but cost $60 on E-bay....
