I was having too much fun during a family holiday in Toronto to visit pen shops, but I just wanted to say you have a fantastic city! :happyberet:

Montreal's far better though.

  • 4 weeks later...

It's been a rough week for me. Too much work, not enough time!

All my pens have been flushed in anticipation of the Pen Pilgrimage. I'm hoping to get a few new colours in Canisters and hopefully a few bottles of ink as well. The people on here who are part of my letter exchanges will get to see some new colours with the next fortnight!

I'm waffling on a new pen, only because I need to try and keep the budget somewhat within check. That, and I'm looking for something that can be both piston and cartridge, with J herbin inks. And at least an xxf to xxxf nib. So we shall see what I can find!

A week away! EEEE! I can't wait! And the S&S store will be the first stop, sometime between 11 30 and 12 30. Not too early a start, unfortunately...

I made it back!

While I didn't find a fountain pen within my parameters (price, nib and such) i was able to get some good ink. Orange Indien, Bleu Myosoitis, and a bottle of Ambre de Birmanie.

Also got some whitelines (which is also available at Midoco and Deserres up from Yonge and eglinton) and a pad of Clairefontaine. I found the BIG essence du papier on the PATH before I got to S&S. That was a very nice surprise! Thank you Bill Smith for letting me know about it!

The rest of it isn't fountain pen related, so is probably not as exciting :) Art supplies, and books to read, not write in.

I wish I had been able to find another pen, but maybe next time.

Thus endeth the Great Pen Pilgrimage of 2009!
