Favorite Easily-Available (in US) Japanese Notebook?

Now that a list exists of easily available (in the US) Japanese notebooks and journals. I would like to know your favorites and your recommendations. Please keep your choices for notebooks, journals, pads... to products listed in US Sources for Japanese Notebooks and Such, https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/in...howtopic=108504 (Or, add the product to the list if you know a good mail-order or online source.). I want to be able to buy them today if I'm so compelled. Unfortunately, in the past I've read about great-sounding Japanese notebooks in other posts that I just can't find.

My recommendation goes to the Apica CD15. Granted, this is the only Japanese notebook I have experienced. But, I really like it. The faux classic cover with "Most advanced quality Gives best writing features" written on the front is a little cheesy, but in a good way. The smooth, but not too smooth paper feels nice. The subtle closely spaced lines are refreshing. I like it quite a bit. It was Helen for me. The notebook that made me read almost countless posts.

I like the Kokuyo Campus Notes the best. They aren't quite as classy looking as Apica and they don't claim to give "Best writing features" but they really do. The paper isn't quite as smooth as Apica but I like that. I have had trouble with Apica and a slippery-nibbed Lamy 2000, but Kokuyo works fine with everything.

I also love Maruman's creamy coloured smooth paper with its big watermarks, but it does feather a bit with certain inks. I sometimes read about famous Japanese writers using Maruman and their notebooks definitely have a classic look and feel.

Just to revive an old thread...

Of the Japanese notebooks my favorite is the Kokuyo Campus (non-recycled) notebook. For reference, I also have used Apicas, Marumans (the Sept Couleur), and Komoda--which is not on the list to my knowledge.

I actually find the Kokuyo paper to be smoother than Apica. The Maruman may be the smoothest of the three. I prefer the Kokuyo because it has the least bleed through, and really does not feather. I experience some feathering on the Apica with wetter nibs, and some bleed through on the Maruman. This is all good for me though because the Kokuyos are the easiest to get for me, and the cheapest to boot!

I agree with Maruman being the smoothest.

My favorite notebooks period are Maruman Mnemosyne, but they have a high price which is the only downside I find they have. Kyoku Campus are a pretty good alternative.

+1 for the Maruman Mnemosyne. Ranks easily with Apica, and it is spiral bound!!!
