I Have the Fellowship Prototype Pens!

Hey Kevin - I had a thought tonight :eureka: as I penned a quick note of appreciation to Kosetsu san for his work on the DTF pen... It would be really neat to see the process by which these pens come to life. I don't recall there being any mention of that in previous threads. Any chance that Danitrio or the artist can take some photos along the "manufacturing" journey that we can post online? Kind of our version of "the road to Futami". I'm sure that folks would enjoy (including me)! Thanks --Chris

It is now confirmed. Kosetsu san will take pictures to show the steps.... Also, I am working with Danitrio to hopefully co-sponsor Kosetsu san and his wife to come to next year's LA Pen Show. They are both maki-e artists and this project has energized him very much and he has expressed interests to meet as many of you as possible. I will do my best to make this a reality. Previously we have had Kogaku san and Omote san for DC shows, so this would be our first to sponsor artists for LA show. Both husband and wife are in their mid to late 40's I think (I'll confirm). I'll plan to have a Friday night wine reception for meet and greet at the show. Danitrio boss will be there, and he usually supplies a couple of bottles of premium sake for us to enjoy  . So, stay tunned.

Hi Jose,

This is why I am making the annoucement now, so you can plan for the trip. I mean, you can look for a medical conference during that time.... or heck, Feb in Southern California is quite nice. I am sure you and your wife can use a vacation, no? Disneyland? Universal Studio? Getty Museum? So, what ya say? I am sure many FPNers would like to meet you as well. I certainly would love to have the chance  So, Jose, please grace us with your presence!

No guarantees on my part, but I'll sure look at seeing if I can get there next year! I'd love to meet Kosetsu san and his wife and Danitrio Boss. (uh, does Danitrio Boss have another name, too?) It would also be my first pen show if I'm able to make it happen. Wish there was a Colorado show.

I am not one of the lucky ones to be able to order this beautiful customized pen for our group, but I've been avidly following its development. It's just quite luscious. And looking at all the nib types available makes me drool. Enjoy your fabulous pens when they arrive.

Yes filling system should be CC/conv system, as the octagon, and should be able to be converted to ED, as far as I know... Kevin, co9rrect me if I'm wrong... Missing as Japanese ED, but it would raise the price quite a lot ... he he...

Hi Kevin,

Hi Roger,

To keep the cost down and to give me less headaches, the pen will only be available as CC filler. Jose is right that you can easily convert these to Western Style ED by just take out the converter.

Best,

Hi Guys,

For those folks who are considering clips, please note that Danitrio has confirmed that they can put a gold plated clip or a rhodium plated clip. Please email me your preferences. Other folks have asked bout other "customization", but for this pen, I have to limit choices, as I really want this pen to be a "group" pen, not a "custom" pen. If you are interested in "one off" custom pen, I can help you with this, just email me. Thanks.

Also, Danitrio told Pen World International magazine about our little project and they were quite intrigue about how we got this project going, so I spoke with editor over the phone and forwarded any requested informations. I gave most of the credits to all the members here and to Danitrio willing to take on our crazy ideas. I am not sure what will come of it from the info provided, but at least the broader pen community is taking notice. Maybe other pen companies would follow suit. It will also be nice to get FPN out there. Anyways, I thought some of you might be interested to know.

How very exciting! Wouldn't it be nice if they met us at the D.C. show and took pictures of us in FPN shirts, with our pens?

This is a very interesting project. It does not obey to any profession nor obscure societies... just a wreid group of "nice" people in love with the work that Danitrio does... a group desire which will turn real in a short time. The magic of spontaneity (?) ... that's the important thing here. Sure it may be the desire of other penmakers to follow it, but the seed is not so easy to find. Here it found a nice earth to grow and to grow sound and strong...

Thanks Kevin and all the group that make it to be a real thing! (here is the difference!)
