Conklin close-out

Hi, I just got an awesome Conklin fountain pen close-out. This is a great deal. This is the Conklin Antique (The name of the pen model not the age) based on a 1920's design. It's a beautiful resin pen with a silver plated overlay with a barley pattern. The pen comes in four colors; Black, Green, Red and Blue. It comes with a Bock steel nib in fine, medium or broad. It has a cartridge converter filling system and comes with a box of Conklin cartridges. While it doesn't come with a converter, it's a standard international cartridge/converter so no doubt you have another converter that will fit it. It comes in a very nice Conklin box. This is not the exact box they sold this in at retail stores...but it's actually a NICER box that was made for a limited edition line that sold out. The retail price on the Antique with a 14kt gold nib is $250.00. With the Bock steel nib it is $150.00 at retail. PS: Yes, now days a 14kt gold nib increases the price of a pen like this by $100.00 at retail! Conklin's nibs are made by Bock in Germany, and if you know Bock nibs you know the steel nib is going to be a great nib! You don't need to pay $100.00 for gold!

A few people asked about he nibs sizes. After testing each size I'd say they are pretty much standard European sizes like Pelikan, Delta, etc. I still have several in each color and all the nib sizes. Cheers, BOB

Bob, I must say - this is one gorgeous pen. I haven't inked up yet, but I'm just taken by how stately it looks.

I also ordered one of these and just got it today!

 

I got the green, and it looks terrific with the stainless nib with the

bright work on the outside of the pen. Though it it is not true

filigree, you could argue it is just as nice!

Thanks Bob, I have got my red pen. The B nib is smooth and there is no skipping at all. I just do some cleaning of the nib with tap water before putting on the cartridge provided. It just writes smoothly. A wonderful pen for just 60 dollars!

I've had this pen (in black, fine nib) for a couple of weeks. I've used it several times, and I'm more than happy at how it performs. What a find!

My blue arrived today - HMRC added £4 and the Royal Mail charged £8 for collecting it.

 

Wonderful pen - even more beautiful than the photos. Writes like a dream as well. If you're teetering on the edge - by one - you'll love it.

 

No connection other than happy customer with a smashing new pen!
