Hero 616 Anatomy

Recommended Posts

Someone just asked me how to remove the hood from the body, to access the nib. The answer is, the same way you remove the hood from a P51: heat it up a little. I used a hairdryer and some hot water from the tap. Once the pen was wet I used a rubber glove to provide some traction as I unscrewed the hood.

Once the hood is off, the feed/tube, section and nib should slip out.

mine didn't need any heating, as there was almost no sealant. i think the lack of sealant is what makes mine drop ink from the hole of the hood. silicone grease would do the trick right?

Thanks for the excellent pictures. You see a fountain pen differently when disassembled.

no need to go to new york to buy these. these are not fake parker 51, but a pen that is a lot inspired of the 51, and not sold under the name"parker 51" but under its real name,"Hero 616". just look on the internet, you'll find these for a few bucks only.

Yep, silcone works great. I use it on real '51,s. Makes deep cleaning so much easier.

Thanks for the pictures. I remain impressed with my Jumbo 616s. I have two that stay on my desk for notes, one black full of Heart of Darkness and one red / burgundy full of Oxblood. Both are smooth writing, reliable little pens.
