Wow, thanks so much guys for the lovely comments... I was GIDDY to find this special 149 brand new and 50% off!! I believe these were originally made in 1999, and the saleswoman believed they had acquired the pen around that time. And there it sat for nine years until I walked in... What luck!

Writing the review allowed me to relive all the initial excitement surrounding my first FP purchase. Thanks for reliving it with me.

I need to be as lucky as you for my next pen purchase! ;)

Thank you Joey for sharing your love and passion with us of the pen which in my book is the classiest pens ever made.

I love MB 149 and even though due to financial dificulties I had to sell mine I am sure to own one soon.

I love this lovely edition in the rather dry 149 line.

Enjoy

Sorry to hear that you had to part ways with your 149. I hope it finds its way back home to you soon...

Well I sold it so I could buy a Majestic pen a MB Hemingway.

I need to get 5 more MB WE pens and then getting another 149 will be an easy task.

Wonderful review and delicious looking pen!!! Your pleasure had obviously infected me. Does the store still have any more 149 in stock? Do they take internet orders? I really hope to share the same joy as you as well. :puddle:

Hi Dear ! I just read your review wid good words and pictures .I cngratulate (though lately ) on acquisition of a beautiful pen and wish you enjoy gour pens a lifetime .No doubt MB149 is an iconic pen .Its comfortable to hold despite of its large size .But these are high investment pens and fragile at the same time so most of time they sit in box rather than pocket and MB is also now a status symble but any collection of pen is incomplte widout MB 146 and 149 lines .

With reasonable care, they’re not fragile at all. Look at Tom Kellie’s posts about his regular use on safari in the bush.

This thread might be 6 years old, but many here on the board are still using MB pens that are 60 as their daily writers.
