My new Scarlet Tanager pen stand - I just had to share.

Came home from the airport this afternoon and a package for a long searched for item was waiting for me.

A Scarlet Tanager pen stand! I already have a boxed NOS example and was reluctant to use it but now with two I can use one without worries.

This is the original stand. The new one is exactly the same but comes in a brown box. Waited for years for this.

BTW, are there any more bird issues from Parker, does anyone know?

Stay well,

Solomon

Dear Paul,

many thanks for the pictures of the Parker Falcon.

It's a limited edition of 100 Sterling Silver pieces by Alex Jardine. I was offered one some years ago for US$350 but declined.

The detailed beauty of the Scarlet Tanager far surpasses the Falcon which seems roughly cast in my opinion.

I was informed by some Parker collectors that there were other ceramic birds but 20 years of searching has only unearthed the Tanagers. Possibly there are prototypes out there - I am still looking.

I do appreciate your effort to check on something I posted months ago.

Stay well sir,

Solomon
