What is (or was) the Sailor SOMIKO?

I bought one a few weeks ago just on the strength of the Sailor name. Haven't used it yet, but it looks and feels like a good pen...of course, thr truth is when the ink flows through the nib and touches paper.

There is a description on eBay that is puzzzling. As best I understand it, the seller says that the Somiko has been discontinued, but was widely sold and highly valued as a good-writing pen...smaller than either model 1911, but good.

Opinions?

It seems that it's still in production and being sold. Here's a link to someone currently selling them. (No affiliation, just a Google result.)

I came here for the pictures and stayed for the conversation.

I have a Somiko, which as sold as a "Yang Profit", with F nib. It is smaller than the 1911 M, or at least more slender. Although it crosses brand lines, it is about one level above the Pilot 78G. Mine writes very smoothly, and is a daily user, along with a 1911 full size F nib, a Professional Gear M nib, and a few other pens. I would balk, however, at paying $62 plus shipping for one. Mine was under $40 including shipping, but without converter.
