Carene: F or M point?

I am thinking about buying a Carene. My doubt is if choose F or M point. Now I have a Cross ATX and a Waterman Expert, both F. Also, I have a Cross Townsend roller, a bit broader than the fountain pens. What is the diference between F and M point in a Carene?

I don't exactly know about Carene (which I have on order, Fine nib), but in Phileas, M is on broader side, and F is closer to medium for many other brands.

My Carene Fine writes at the same width as - a Conklin fine and a Lamy Safari extra-fine (really, I'm looking right at two lines running parallel). Sorry I don't have anything else sitting here for comparison.... ok, found a 1.5 stub nib Lamy and the Carene will fit into the stub's line width between three and four times.

Hopefully I didn't confuse all this further.

Carenes write somewhat dry, and I found the F nib to feel a bit disconcerting to me, so I'm happier with the M.

Normally, I'd prefer the finer nib. Some day, I might get mine tuned to write slightly wetter.

My Carene F puts down a much finer line than my Expert II F. In fact the latter puts down a similar line to my Le Man 200 M. The Le Man 100 F is somewhere between the two. You didn't mention if you have an Expert I or II. I have no experience with the Expert I, but based on my Expert II you might think about a Carene M. Personally, I like the Carene F as it works really well with the Bulletproof Noodlers inks that I use at work. My Expert II F puts down a pretty thick line with these inks, which is why I have ordered an XF nib for this pen.

That is the response I needed. I have an Expert II, and I find it quite broad to be F, so if the Carene M is similar, that will be my choice

It may also help to search the "ink review" forum with search term "carene" and you may get few pictures of writing samples with fine and medium nibs. Here are a few posts with pictures of writing samples:

I am with the same question between Carene F and M. I would like to see the sample pictures, but for some reasons I cannot follow the links above. Could anyone help me find the postings?
