Beautiful pen + review Laura. How many $$$, I presume more than usual as it's a custom

Do you write wirth it or is it a treasure to keep and admire in the cabinet/box

None of my Nakaya pens are ever without ink! All three are amongst my very best writers, and the rest of my best writers have customised nibs - but Nakaya nibs are perfect for me out of the box!

The price is mentioned on the Nakaya website, linked at the end of my review on the first page. :)

Laura,

What a beautiful pen! Could you post a handwriting sample using this pen? The rose gold nib looks very nice. Did you have them design any amount of flex in the nib? I find your tastes in pens - and Nakayas' execution of your ideas - truly inspiring. The refinement, attention to detail and originality is quite impressive. It's just an evolved level of taste that I will have to spend a great deal more time in this hobby to fully appreciate, let alone develop.

Sonia!

It's such a sweet pen - I want more! Bring on the bankruptcy! :P

Child! You know that I'm contemplating an offer for another job (Medical Director) so I can feel less guilty to buy the Chinkoku?????? can you believe this???...Of course you can!

I like the red and black, but I have quite some reds in my pens.... now I can customize it and have it green, but not Oxford (I hate that green). I have to research which one :hmm1: ...olive green would be nice...

You have impeccable taste, and they (Nakaya) have masterful skills to be able to carry out your vision.

Not quite. ;) I have some kind of vision, which Nakaya embrace and then take in their own direction, improving, refining and perfecting all the way. :D

You are too modest. Your process with emails back and forth, color decisions and the sharing of drawings all make you a co-builder of that pen--which is of course why one orders from them. Those craftsmen are very skilled and obviously talented. They could have [and did] create a chinkin pen, but they could not have created THAT work of art without your guidance. The metaphor that comes to mind is car and driver....don't know if that makes sense. Anyway, WOW!

Nakaya Chinkin pen?! Yea, maybe after a second mortgage! Anyway, what a statement of beauty, workmanship and great review to boot. Here's an excellent video on the Chinkin painstaking process. Enjoy and be awe inspired.

I think I have a much better idea of what my grail pen looks like now.

Beautiful!

I'd be so worried about marring that beautiful work of art with even the slightest of blemishes or imperfections that I'd end up never using it and just have it framed and sitting over my desk where I could fawn over it all day long. :puddle:
