using a Pilot Plumix with converter?

I just picked up a Pilot Plumix this morning in my local Target store. From what I've read, these are available in other countries using international cartridges but the US version using the Pilot Namiki proprietary cartridges. What I'm wondering is - has anyone tried using a converter in one of these? That will allow more colors than just the typical black, blue, and blue/black which is all I've seen most places carry for these refills. I would think since my Vanishing Point takes the same carts, I could use a VP converter, but that doesn't hold much ink at all. Any other options out there?

Should the converter idea not work out, I just refilled the cartridge once I finished it up and cleaned it out real good, and it seems to work just fine. I've got Noodler's Dragon's Napalm in one and Baystate Blue in another.

The Namiki Vanishing Point Twist Converter fits Plumix pens. I bought two of the converters directly from the Namiki website. They hold very little ink, of course; about half the amount that the cartridge holds, but it's enough to get me through a day. I love that I can just toss a Plumix (upright) in my bag without concern about loss, and the converter lets me use a Noodler's Bulletproof Ink. (Currently "Luxury Blue.)

I love cheap pens.

I recently bought a Plumix and a con-20 from JetPens and I'm anxiously awaiting its arrival! I'll try to remember to post back here about how the pair works out together.

I've fitted a CON-20 converter in my Plumix and it works just fine.

Target has been carrying Plumix pens for some time now, and while I don't like the pen design (no clip and no internal cap are real negatives), the nib is great. The line is like a crisp italic, but the performance is like a stub, IMO. Also, if your barrel happens to be airtight (only about 50% are), it's an easy eyedropper conversion.

So I got my Plumix, and it's a great cheap little pen! I've fitted it with a con-20 like another user on this forum. I had never used a squeeze converter before so that was kind of an adjustment, and I'm not completely sold on it because I can't tell how much ink is left in it. However, it's a great writer for a starter italic pen! I've had tons of fun writing with this thing.

There's another option - if you use some epoxy to make sure the back end is properly closed, and get your hands on some o-rings and silicone grease, you can just convert it to an eyedropper instead.

Will the Con-50 work with the Plumix?

most likely, but keep in mind, some people actually find the Con20 the better of the two, nonetheless, I am satisfied with my con50 convertor

I just tried to fit a converter to my UK version of the plumix. It fits but there is no tightness to hold on it. All I can think of is to add some glue, but I am worried that the ink will eventually disolve this.

I have all the Pilot catalogues, ask me if you need help.

I often have five percent of alcol 95 in to the cartouch. That make ink flow a bit smooth, for a long run I don't know if it may have any damage. But You may try with your plumix .

I also nabbed a Plumix from Target, they only had blue but could not resist for the 6 bucks they wanted. Though I also received from JetPens the Penmanship. I ordered the clear one and I prefer the Penmanship design as it does not have the line work molded in the body but I really like the Plumix Nib.

They are both great for my office cause I get FP action without the worry if someone nabs it off the table and I need to replace.

Is there a way to easily swap the two nibs between the two? I would love to have the wide nib in the clear body, I am a little hesitant to mess with them though for it seams some of the molded threading in the plastic body is slightly different.

They are easy to swap, look for the threads for 78G, Prera, Plumix nib swap.

I got one of these recently (also at Target) and tried a con-50 with it, and it works.

The Con-50 that I've been using in my Plumix for years has worked all right, though its edge is now cracking. Online, it appears that the Con-40 is recommended, though several reviews on Amazon say that it's so flimsy, that some people receive them crushed. I'd prefer using the seemingly sturdier Con-70, but can't find anyplace saying what it's compatible with.
